Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA warm and friendly welcome and despite the TT my room was a quiet haven overlooking the inner courtyard. The location was perfect for a stroll along the bay and the food was well prepared and tasty!

United KingdomThe furnishings are getting tired and housekeeping wasn’t as frequent as our last stay. The room wasn’t serviced for three days after we checked in (fair enough) but then wouldn’t have been serviced for a further three days unless we asked for it. At £200 a night, I don’t really expect to be making my own bed or supplying my own tea and biscuits. I appreciate its TT fortnight and the hotel was full but every other day doesn’t seem unreasonable
We like the location with a sea view and proximity to town and the ferries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty faultless with a good choice of food.

United KingdomOne person on check out , she was on the phone, as I needed a receipt this meant I was kept waiting quite a while. No biggy but others were also waiting.
Breakfast was the usual buffet style with a good choice, a little chaotic as squashed into a small space, especially around the drinks area.

United KingdomDidn't find anything really.
The location is good - bus from airport will take you to bus stop 3 on the promenade directly outside the hotel. Breakfast was varied although no specific vegetarian options (no veggie sausages for example). The rooms (well mine anyway) overlooked an atrium with 'garden'. The attached bar does basic food and the staff are friendly and welcoming. There is also and onsite 'asian' restaurant although I did not use. Castle Street is very close and has many shops and eating places - most eating places close for orders around 8pm. And the bed was super large.

United KingdomThe only comment is, by its nature then atrium is quite echoey, exaggerating all conversations and noises. Also be aware of running water sounds cause you problems!
Lovely traditional hotel, we had an excellent junior suite overlooking internal atrium, super breakfast. On site restaurants are independent but good, the Sir Norman has limited menu but good food. Close enough to other good eateries though. Underground car parking arrangements are first come first served really so a little problematic and website needs updating for what really is available. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Didn’t try the pool and gym, maybe next time! Lots of lifts so very accessible.

United KingdomThe room we were given is situated overlooking the enclosed atrium, which meant that there was no real airflow through the room so it smelled stale and grew uncomfortably hot during the night (we were given a fan though, which helped). The mattress was a touch too firm for our liking, so we didn't have the best sleep, and the bathroom smelled peculiar (not helped by the lack of airflow). Due to the way the hotel is built, this is unfortunately one of those aspects that can't be helped. We didn't spend too long in the room anyway so we weren't majorly inconvenienced by these factors.
The location is brilliant, it's roughly midway between Lord Street with its main bus terminal, and the Electric Railway. The views out to the sea are lovely from the breakfast room, and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is amazing, really good quality food and fresh. The on-site bar is gorgeous, and the attached restaurant is worth a visit for its amazing Japanese/Thai food. The building itself is beautiful, and though they did have scaffolding up it didn't impact our stay at all.
