Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe water in the bathroom was only lukewarm , we would have preferred a hot bath / shower on a chilly night . Everything else was great

United KingdomCould hear noise from the other rooms, TV late at night, I believe they were watching spiderman homecoming as I started watching it myself and a child crying early on but maybe thats just me as I wanted an early night but the child at the time kept screaming their head off! Also the shower drain clogged up and soaked everywhere just FYI
Nice quiet location, a little out the way for me, but the room was nice, last minute booking but was very accommodating due to late booking.

United KingdomThe bike storage space is open to the elements. Some rules are a bit strict (need to take your trash back with).
Highly recommend the restaurant that absolutely exceeded my expectations. Quiet location, perfect for us as we were cycling across the Cotswolds. We could safely leave our bikes in a small locked compound out of sight behind the hotel. Helpful and reactive staff.

United KingdomIt won't affect everyone, but we didn't realise check in ended at 9pm. We just made it! Also even though the kitchen was closed, hot food cannot be brought onto the premises. Again, we were happy to pick up some sandwiches so it didn't affect our enjoyment of our stay.
A great location. Not far off the M4 but it feels like a countryside escape. It was nice to feel that this was a unique place, a refreshing change from so many hotels these days. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and delivered to the room. The bed was comfortable.

United KingdomI think perhaps the hot water could have been a little hotter, but that is all.
I was greeted by Karen upon arrival, a smashing lady and so friendly. The building is (obviously) converted from an old schoolhouse and is a little quirky, which I feel added to the charm of the place. My room, at the rear of the property, looked out over fields. Breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately, I did not have a meal in the restaurant, and so I cannot comment on this.

United KingdomBoth rooms were very cold on arrival and it took a while to warm them up with additional heaters provided. We do, however, appreciate, that a well-functioning central heating system in such an old and large building is going to be problematic. As lovely and quiet as Fred, the owners' dog, was, I think a warning about a dog on the premises should be issued, considering a lot of information was sent in advance about various dos and don'ts, e.g. a fine for having your own food or drink in the rooms.
Excellent food, both at breakfast and dinner, which exceeded our expectations. A very welcoming host. Lovely views and a convenient location for our journey, just off the main roads. Very quiet. Excellent wi-fi, a very good shower. Tea/coffee tray and an extra blanket were provided. Atmospheric all round as the hotel is in an old school house. Excellent value for money.

The welcome was very pleasant and extremely helpful. The Room was comfortable. The evening meal that we had was really good and although served to us in the Foye and not in an expected Restaurant it was very nice

United KingdomIt's not a dislike really but I feel foyer where we sat for an evening drink could do with a little more atmosphere but I understand that having that space was an unexpected added extra which saved us leaving for somewhere else for a nighttime tipple before bed. It's nice to have the option to eat breakfast there though
Lovely comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. The hosts, including furry host Fred, were extremely welcoming. It's in a beautiful setting which we didn't have time to explore this time

United KingdomNow i realy loved this hotel so please see these as more unfortunate points than actual complaints, I had issues with the the shower the evening of our stay, but it was absolutely fine in the morning, so frustrating but not a huge issue(I just had a bath instead) and my partner had a hair in her food in the morning, again I say these are more unfortunate than actual bad points as they could have happened anywhere and the hotel was other lovely and clean etc and would definitely stay again!
I loved the look of the building and slightly old worldish feel to it, the feeling of seclusion and the friendly staff(Karen) who was more than accommodating, friendly and absolutely charming with every interaction we had!

United KingdomThe pillows were not comfortable in the room... i didnt sleep well because of that and was a lil cold as main radiator seemed to not work... there were hairs on the walls in the bathroom...but the place was clean so found that abit strange..the menu is very expensive so meant we ate out instead...theres rules about rubbish and not allowed to take ur own food and drink into your room from outside the hotel...but sorry karen we did take our own drinks in as after 9pm i was really thirsty...its a shame really as the place does have alot of potential
Loved the quirkiness of the place...Karen was a lovely lady
