Bit of a shock to find a whisky we had cost £120! Only discovered when we paid our check out bill. A nod towards such a big price might have been expected.

The pricetag matches (exceeds?) the quality of the resort. The rooms are very nice, but they're average size. A low/night-light in the bathroom would be nice. Our dinner at the main restaurant was marred by numerous large groups that arrived after we were seated and marred the dining experience. It would have been nice if someone (hostess/manager) had explained the situation to prepare us, if nothing else.

A true luxury resort, Schloss Roxburghe offers the highest quality stay in the Scottish Borders. A spa, a wide range of activities (golf, skeet, archery, etc.), and beautiful grounds make this the sort of stay where you never need to leave the property. The food options are very good and there is an outstanding whisky bar. Our room was comfortable (the bed was wonderful), and the stay was everything we would expect at a property of this quality

This review is hidden because it doesn't meet our guidelines.

I think the slow service is really the only thing that was slightly frustrating. I was a little disappointed that it was still an issue when we returned a year later.

Breakfast was lovely on the first morning and we have found that both times we have stayed on a Saturday night the service is slow on the Sunday morning, with nobody topping up key items on the hot buffet and the staff seem stressed. This was the same for dinner on Saturday night. Having said that the food is lovely and all the staff are very nice. The spa is amazing and the room was lovely.

At check out trying to add a 5% discretionary charge to the room bill, not cool We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel as it seemed overpriced so can’t comment on quality. We had the aircon on the lowest temperature and max but still we were warm in our bedroom.

The spa area including outdoor pool lovely and relaxing. The pool was heated and so nice to be outside swimming in Scotland. Lots of areas to relax and have a drink in. Breakfast was delicious- great variety and good quality. You can ask for different milks, maybe best to have them out for people to use. Room was comfortable and styled well.

Comfortable and well appointed, the property was classy without being over the top. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was a welcome surprise. Bed massive and very comfortable. The spa is possibly the best I have ever experienced both indoor and outdoor it cannot be faulted.

I’m being really picky, the top of the headboard had a thin layer of dust and some of the other black surfaces. I gave them a wipe. And I don’t feel the restaurant should add a service charge on top of the bill. It should allow guests to tip themselves, this right shouldn’t be taken away from guests.

Excellent hotel, staff and the room was lovely. Spa was excellent too.

Prices at the restaurant are quite steep, but this is probably to be expected at a place like this.

Wonderful experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly - special thanks to Philipp the concierge. He is a true gentleman and made us feel extra special.

Spa could have been better for a 5 star hotel In general I found this hotel to be really 'casual' for a 5 star - which doesn't mean guest can walk around just if they're well dressed, i mean more the staff and how the tables in the restaurant are arranged.

Definetely an amazing hotel with really good dinner options, lovely Drinks and great breakfast! Vegan friendly . Room was great!
