Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only criticism during our stay came from the coffee drinker, because the coffee from a machine was luke-warm; the alternative (instant coffee and water intended for tea) was not attractive either!
We enjoyed being located in the historic Cathedral Close, which is still locked overnight (against the outside world!) Reception welcome was good, and we preferred the educational surroundings to the more usual commercial "frills". We were very happy to have no TV or radio - therefore spared endless politics. Breakfast - in a bright roomy refectory - was excellent, with one exception...

United KingdomWas a little noisy at the back of the building. I usually have a room at the front which is always very quiet so it was unexpected.
Great location opposite the cathedral.

I absolutely loved the location, just opposite the Cathedral. The staff was very kind and welcoming and breakfast was varied and fresh.

Wonderful location right in the centre of Salisbury next to the cathedral. The room was as advertised pretty basic but met all my requirements.

United KingdomWe knew the gates close at 11:00pm (originally told 10:30pm) and you need to buy a refundable key to get in after that time, but weren't told it's pedestrians only. Therefore, if driving you would need to find (and pay for) overnight parking outside of the Cathedral Close. Not a problem if you are aware beforehand.
In an excellent location right in the centre of Salisbury, just opposite the Cathedral, but was quite quiet and feels very private and secluded. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with all essentials provided - nice to have a room without a TV for a change! The buffet breakfast was quite varied and substantial, and delicious. All the staff in the college were very friendly and helpful. Overall, an excellent value-for-money place to stay within the Cathedral Close.

United KingdomThe water pressure wasn't the greatest on the top floor. The pressure seem to vary every second, so it was rather tricky to use the tap. Also, the water coming out of the tap wasn't clear, so we had to purchase bottled water. The waste disposer mechanism was quite sensitive under the sink and the toilet, so it gets triggered (and quite loud) frequently.
The gated area surrounding the cathedral is locked during the night. So it was extremely quiet which we liked. The location was central, and our room had a great view of the cathedral. The buffet breakfast was superb and orderly. Bed was comfortable.

United KingdomBathroom rather cold as small high window open and too high to close. Light a bit far from the bed and no near socket to bring it closer.

United KingdomMy friend thought her mattress was a bit hard but my mattress was just right for me! We only had a showerhead over the bath taps and a walk in shower would have been fab - but for cost of the room it was wonderful.
Breakfast was wonderful. So much choice.

The breakfast was totally excellent; the best I've had at an English B&B for a while. The situation, which is why I chose to stay there, is absolutely stunning, with an unbeatable view of Salisbury Cathedral when you open the front door.

Fantastic location in Cathedral Close with onsite parking and looking out over Salisbury Cathedral. 5 minutes walk to the city centre. Traditional building with quirky but comfortable rooms. Clean although could do with a lick of paint on the window sills. Excellent friendly staff. Cooked breakfast was very tasty. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomThere could have been a few more teabags provided for a twin room.
Lovely quiet room, simple and entirely unfussy decor, spacious clean bathroom; delightful staff on the door and again at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, with a great spread of fruit salads as well as hot food, and the hall where the food is served is spacious, calmly lit, and has windows on all sides with plants and trees visible.
