Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery long walk to our room! Kept us fit I guess! Hotel was looking very tired - but still acceptable. Very surprised that there were no bottles of water in our double room with harbour view. We were informed that only superior rooms on the upper floors get this privilege (which is standard in even budget hotels such as Premier Inn which provide water - at least the one we stayed at in Nottingham in March did!). We were enjoying a drink at the outside bar on a lovely sunny afternoon. Until the loud head banging music was put on by the young staff at around 4.45. Caused a general exodus, not just of ourselves but people at three of the tables near us also got up and left - we talked with two of these and found that were leaving for the same reason as ourselves. We would have bought another round of drinks if no loud house music - hotel revenue lost therefore. Some training required?
Location - hotel overlooks a glorious beach. First floor room was good although in effect it overlooked a car park - but Poole Harbour was beyond this. View was therefore good! Spacious room with settee and arm chairs. Breakfast was very satisfactory. Dinner on two nights: first night was mixed. I had pizza - no major complaint. My wife had lasagne - not good at all. Microwaved. Dessert was not particularly memorable. Our second night choice was really good - we had sea food risotto. And no dessert.

Location is spectacular but if you walk out onto the beach and turn left, walk quite a way up there it seems to be more popular and a lovely restaurant/bar on the beach. It was a decent room overlooking the beach but it is in need of updating. It was so hot at night we had to sleep with the balcony doors wide open all night, no air con. Staff were very friendly and professional

United KingdomThe Amalfi restaurant was fine, but initially there was a 10 minute wait to place a drinks order.
Great location and view from the room to the beach/sea. Good location in terms of walking along the front in either direction. A quiet place, not too busy. The breakfast was good, and staff v friendly and helpful.

United KingdomHad to complain about no hot water and no heating in the room on the first morning. So we could not take a shower and I had to boil a kettle to shave. Also a bedside light not working. The staff did respond and corrected these shortcomings. The bathroom was a bit tired. Only a shower over the bath.
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast choices. Amalfi restaurant was good.

United KingdomOur room was a long walk from reception. When we went don for a drink at 6.00 p.m. before going out for a meal the bar was closed even though it was a Friday evening.
The location near the beach was excellent. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

We thought that the view from our room was stunning. We were upgraded to one of your superior sea view rooms at the top and it was fantastic and we want to book again for next year in one of those rooms!

United KingdomSome furnishings were a little tired.
Radek on reception couldn’t have been more helpful. Although we were a large family party and the weather was dreadful, there was plenty of space for us to spread out to play games. The indoor pool was a bonus. Swimming in the sea in the rain was a joy. Just wish our stay had been longer. Really hope to return.

United KingdomPrices for drinks I felt were too high, to be out of one of the less expensive wines and offered more expensive wines only, price of beer at £7 is high. Breakfast was ok but cold on the plate, no options for cheese/ham/salads etc. Steps to Swimming pool narrow, and not friendly to the less mobile, also closed before 7pm I noticed.
Loved the room. the restaurant, the welcome and easy car parking

United KingdomThe only thing that could have been improved was the linen on the bed which appeared to be too small for the size of bed in the room, the bed was remade every morning which was nice, but a larger bottom sheet and a lighter weight duvet for this time of year would have been appreciated.
Breakfast was varied and good with lots of choice. The location is excellent. This was not our first visit and we return quite regularly, due to the position of the hotel. The staff were very good too.

United Kingdomwell, the restaurant shuts early ( 8.30pm) it felt a little pressured to book a table. The bar inside shut so you could only use the outside bar, then that shut so you could only use the inside bar. true there is a great selection of breakfast- buffet style so if its been there a while it tasted dried out. the toaster didn't work
we liked the walk along the beach.
