Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomno complaints at all - although I do like a hot plate for breakfast in the morning. That would be the only thing I'd ask for next time!
the ambience is lovely and as the sun was shining for a change it made sitting out on the terrace much better.

United KingdomWould have liked to see a fridge in the room as it was a suite . Apart from that, i couldn't fault the hotel
Spacious, loverly decor and windows that open wide. The bathroom had an ensuite ,shower cubical, and a separate bath. The bed was comfy and more than enough pillows, as for the facilities provided tea , coffee , biscuits, and break fast juice .the view from the window was amazing and made the trip that extra special. For people willing to park, there are signs to pay by phone .on the sign there should be a H . Park in the bays and book your car into reception.

United KingdomThe room was very small and storage spaces were at a premium, especially the desk area, most of which was taken up by the tea making facilities and the wardrobe which was difficult to access being right in the corner. The bathroom, in spite of having no heating at all was extremely hot and stuffy, the extractor fan not doing anything if it was working (reported to reception, told it was the pipes making it hot ?), the shower head did not fit into the higher position holder but was of a decent pressure so a shower was possible, albeit bent double. The single sash window did afford a partial sea view and amazingly in this day and age did open further than the regulation 2 inches, however be aware if you do open it (which you have to to combat the heat from the bathroom) that the seagulls will land on the sill ! There is a fan supplied but it was too noisy to use overnight so be aware the room is warm and stuffy. There is an outside terrace for the bar overlooking the sea but unfortunately on the road outside there are bus parking bays and on both days 2 coaches were parked there blocking any view!
Nice quirky hotel on the clifftop just a short walk into town or the harbour. All the staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our short stay extremely pleasant, a special mention to Phillipa and Ben. A nice touch is the free bottled water supplied in the room. The breakfast is the usual buffet style so can be a bit hit and miss if you like a full English as the food can have been in the warmers a while, but there is plenty of choice, again excellent staff on both mornings.

United KingdomI would have given this hotel a 10/10 on everything as I was chuffed with it, until check out. We had gone for a walk on the beach, but most of the walkways down/up were closed so it took longer than planned. I also thought our checkout time was 12, as thats when our parking permit they had authorised ended. I got a call when I was on the beach to say I had already been charged for late checkout as we should have been out by 11am, I was then also told that we had to be out by 12 otherwise I would be charged for another night at the rate of £215!! My husband was already on his way back up (quicker for him to go solo than us trying to wrangle our toddler quickly). I found the approach and the way that call was handled, as well as the very strict policy really disappointing. We were all packed and literally just needed to get out the room. If we'd realised it was an 11am checkout, we would have taken our bags down earlier. It was an honest mistake! Other than that, the room was great, staff all very friendly and great location.
Ben on reception was great as was the gentleman looking after breakfast. The room, and the bed, was huge and comfortable.

United KingdomThe room is just too hot for me, with not breeze for the small amount I could open the window. I also found the pillows very uncomfortable. There is a fan, but I struggle to sleep with a fan on me.
I liked the value of the room compared to local competitors. The breakfast was nice, and better than what some lower priced hotels offer. Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, after opting for the cheapest option. Nice, good sized bathroom. Nice staff who helped when I asked questions, and easy parking after enquiring.

United KingdomThe property is beautifully decorated and has a great view of the sea. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and housekeeping went above and beyond to provide for the needs of one of our party with mobility issues. This level of service is unusual and was greatly appreciated.

United KingdomThe hotel generally is a bit tired in terms of decor and facilities. The room had two chairs at the window but they were quite uncomfortable and also too small to sit and still have the view out of the window. There were some issues with the boiler on the first night but these were eventually resolved (though took a bit of chasing).
Spectacular views from the front-facing suite, made the experience very septic. Large very comfortable bed and very spacious room. Staff were pleasant but possibly a bit stretched.

United KingdomThis hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the sea and the food in the restaurant is delicious. We had a large number of our wedding guests staying at the hotel and the team organised a group meal for us all the night before. Hana and the team were friendly efficient and always happy to help. One of our family members injured themselves at the wedding and the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating when he got back to the hotel in the evening, helping him from the coach back into the hotel and making sure he was comfortable. The rooms were spacious and lovely. Would highly recommend
