The double room was fine as a single occupant, but had there been two of us, I would have been disappointed with its size. The wardrobe with just three hangers on one support sufficed for my needs but otherwise appeared very substandard. I expected more in the way of toiletries, as described in the description of facilities. This was addressed to some extent on request at reception. Cleanliness was generally good but a sticky surface, where the tea & coffee making facilities were placed is the reason for my lower rating. A couple of packets of biscuits would have been welcome and not uncommon in my experience. Had I not been in contact with the hotel prior to confirming my booking leading, by chance, to a room on the ground floor, I would, as an elderly person, have been astonished to learn there was no lift in the building.

Close proximity to Rail Station . Breakfast was good and staffed by a a pleasant and attentive staff member.

The check-in was quick and easy. They even did our carparking for us to save downloading the app. The bar and restaurant were clean and well looked after. Room was 'Very Cosy'. We knew it would be small, however it was very clean and bed was very comfortable. For 1 night it was OK, if staying any longer for a couple I would upgrade to the bigger room.

Only 4 pillows for three people. We asked for additional pillows but none arrived. Never had that issue at any other hotel. Additional fee to park at hotel. No lift.

I could hear the people next door including a mans 45 min conversation on the phone. I could hear them in the shower and the toilet. Walls were too thin

With works being undertaken at the moment, the dining area felt a little cramped at busy times, but that was to be expected.

The location is excellent and as always when visiting here, the staff are all so welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent and I really liked the new reception area with the bar.

The kitchen was being revamped so very limited menu choice. Didnt know till arrival.

The staff checking in were amazing, esp the blonde lady with a pony tail on Friday eve around 7pm. She was a credit to the hotel and couldnt do enough. Please pass on my gratitude and thanks to her. If there was an employee award or incentive scheme she would definitelt get my vote.

The shower was very poor, low pressure to be almost useless and warm, not hot. Thinner walls and doors than I would have liked, could hear shouting at 6am quite loudly. No sounds from the road, however. Fire alarm went off early morning, both nights we stayed. If it's your cheapest option for a stay in Derby I'd maybe go for it, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere

Great location, friendly welcoming staff, and an ok all round stay, albeit with a few issues. The room was a fine size, the bed comfortable. TV was ok.

Nothing the hotel did. In fact they were helpful, but I ended up paying twice for the same room. It was a booking website thing which I felt really angry about. They are like sharks. If you make a mistake you pay. Thanks to Lauren for listening to my rant and making me feel better about things. I have to say the staff make all the difference here.

The furniture was old and not well cared for with scratches and worn parts.Carpet well worn.Mt room was small and when fire alarm went off I struggled to get me and walker out of the door.For one night I could manage but next time I would need accessible room.
