Decor in the public spaces was rather dark and gloomy. My room (11) overlooked the kitchen extractor fan so was rather noisy until that went off.

Excellent location, secure car park, friendly staff. Very helpful when I left an item behind on checkout.

The room had a few minor issues that needed attention: it was a bit chilly when I arrived, but a quick visit to the reception desk sorted out the heating issue. Additionally, being on the top floor meant that there were some low ceilings in certain areas of the room, which took some getting used to. Overall, however, these small quibbles didn't detract from my overall satisfaction with the accommodation.

As a solo business traveller, I appreciated the excellent location of this hotel, which made it easy for me to get around and attend meetings. My clean and comfortable room was a welcome respite after a long day of work, allowing me to relax and recharge. The friendly and helpful hotel staff were always available to answer my questions and make recommendations, making my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.

Nothing really - it made our holiday being in the right place with pleasant surroundings and pleasant friendly people. The hotel is a good balance of modern decoration with an old historic building. The art on the walls was fantastic and much appreciated.

We had the continental breakfast which was just right for the days activities. The staff are friendly and it was a pleasure to be there.

The only thing was that my second stay was on the very top floor in the eaves of the roof, the room.was very pleasant but only had a shower in the ensuite and as I was so close to the roof, I heard every howl of wind and rain. I could of asked for another room but did not want to make a fuss. I will stay here again but will ask not to be on the top floor.

I've stayed here twice for work purposes. As a lone female, I was glad to stay on site (there are lodges outside the main hotel). The first stay was on the third floor, it was a lovely room, with a bath and overhead shower in the ensuite, the bed was so comfortable. I had a meal in their restaurant which, was delicious. As I was starting work early they let me take away a breakfast with coffee and couldn't help me enough. I was so pleased I booked here again for my next work trip. The staff are really lovely.

We have stayed here before so I knew there isn't a lift. Very noisy seagulls all night which I know is beyond the control of the hotel!

Great food available in the restaurant and good selection of food in the continental breakfast. Comfortable bar area. Great location for the Hall for Cornwall.

Noisy A/C at night on back of hotel - probably kitchen. Went off before lights out, so thankfully did not disturb sleep.

Continental breakfast was fine - lots of choice and selection renewed regularly. Toasting machine a bit erratic - bur then gets quite a battering every day! Good coffee and tea selection, topped up on request. Staff very helpful and conscientious.

The room was immaculate, the whole hotel and bar is decorated and presented beautifully. The staff went above and beyond. Very happy with the service we got.

A little disappointed overall for the cost e.g. the hotel staff whilst helpful in facilitating a family meal in the restaurant kept reminding us of a 'rule' regarding non-residents dining on a Sunday (which seemed pretty daft to us as there were 2 couples who were hotel guests and only one couple who were not). On the plus side this meant that the restaurant was quiet, but there was only a limited menu. The quality of the toilet paper in the room was poor. The breakfast arrangements were not great - running out of key items meant limited choice.

Good location, staff were pleasant and helpful. The room (32) had 'real' opening windows. The climb to the 'top' floor was quite a challenge. I quite liked hearing the cathedral clock chimes during the night - others may not.
