Having a slight mobility issues the stairs were a huge challenge, very steep, and difficult to carry up luggage even though we had only a small 'carry-on' suitcase and a tote bag each. As much as we would like to return we probably would not due to the access to the upper floors. If you're fit then"go for it'.

Breakfast was good, the shower set up was very spacious and the room was quite 'cozy'.

We hadn't appreciated that the food service wasn't available on a Monday evening until after booking. We didn't arrive until 8.30pm but the pub closed at 9pm, (although Sarah stayed until about 9.30pm, while cleaning) which was a shame as this had attracted our initial search. Probably sign of the times? Country pubs are struggling.

The Royal Oak is situated in a nice part of Dover. There is a small park near by. They also accommodated our small spaniel dog. The staff friendly.

Excellent, well designed rooms with great facilities. Spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated, coffee machine in the room, good shower. EV charger in the car park was very handy! Very helpful and friendly staff and a good breakfast. Highly recommended.

Room was above the main bar which got very noisy as it was a Saturday . Shower wasn’t great, low pressure and lack of door meant the bathroom floor was soaked

We were in room 1,the sound of the coolers was very loud and woke us a few times but by the second night we had got used to it .The bathroom was very cold ,but the room was lovely and warm.

Staff very friendly and supportive. Breakfast nice and hot .Carol the chef was very happy and friendly. Our TV was not working for the 1st night but Nicky another member of staff took the time to re-tune it ,we were very grateful for this .

All the stairs were different depths and widths which made it difficult to get up and down as I’m disabled. The one going towards our room was so narrow had to put feet on sideways would of helped if there had been something to hold on to. Definitely wouldn’t of stay if we had known about the stairs. This should be stated on web site very poor for disabled.

Sprung mattress not the best. low water pressure. Would have been nice to know prior to booking that food wasn't served on a Monday night, as this is the main reason we book places like this, after a 14hour shift its not the best to have drive somewhere for food.

Lovely little pub in a quite area. Really tasty bacon sandwich in the morning. Great bedding.

Location is very good - less than 15 minutes to the Ferries. Parking is a little limited but it's an older property so could not expect any thing else. Room was very clean, excellent shower ensuite bathroom with large, easily accessible shower, complementary toiletries. Bed a tad too firm if like us sleep on a soft mattress, however, I have slept on harder beds. We had to leave before breakfast serving so owner left us a grab and go bag to take with us. We had an evening meal in the pub - good standard of food.

Hotel is not located in the centre of Dover, about ten minutes by car from the ferry.

We had a nice stay at the Royal Oak. Room was cosy, bed very comfortable and breakfast more than allright. Good decision to sleep there after arriving in England late with the ferry. Next day we could start refreshed on our road trip through the Kingdom. Dover is also nice, unfortunately there was no time left for a walk to the beautiful castle on the cliff.

Bed was a little soft for me but that is maybe my preferance

The staff and owner were very friendly. The cooked breakfast was lovely and also catered for my dietary needs as I am gluten and dairy intolerant also put together a lovely salad for me on our first evening. The room was not large but ample for us and spotless. Good wifi although no tv we were able to use our tablets apparently they are installing tv's next month
