We had an ebike and the owner/manager would not let us charge it "because it's charger wasn't PAT tested", even though we had an extension cord that would have allowed bike and charger to remain outdoors.

Everything. Host greeted us as soon as we arrived and asked our permission for him to give us a rundown on just how good Buxton is - And it was great. And he was right. Buxton is a lovely place to stay, as is Roseleigh. The rooms were comfortable and of old time quality. The location, looking over the lake, is oh so pleasant and an absolute pleasure to go out into each morning. The ducks, geese and many other types of birds were a joy to watch. And the location is great to see Chatsworth House Lyme House and quite a few others.

Excellent selection of breakfast choices and attentive service. In Buxton for G&S festival at the Opera House so perfect location just around 5mins walk across the park. Room very comfortable especially liked the comfy armchairs !

The room was small and cramped and the sink was outside the bathroom, and there was no fridge.

Location was fantastic and the area and surrounds are quite beautiful and the building is quite old and characterful. Our hots was very attentive and helpful with any request we had and provided us with a great historical view of the area.

Couldn't fault the accommodation. There are no lifts so if you are staying on the top floor and you have heavy luggage, be prepared for some exercise to get your luggage to the top - or travel lightly.

The staff is amazing - very helpful and very knowledgeable. Location was perfect - walking distance to restaurants and tourist spots. The breakfast was perfect - ample food and choice. Eggs cooked to your choosing. You felt comfortable and at home from the moment you entered the building. Ample private carparking available if you are driving.

Very warm welcome by friendly hosts. Ideally situated and very comfortable accommodation, our room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and good quality bed linen and pillows. Our room had a lovely view of the park. Free parking on site was greatly appreciated. The building is nicely decorated and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, all beautifully presented. I especially appreciated the jug of iced water that was available, as I don't drink hot drinks, I usually have to ask for water, so this was a nice touch, that it was already out with several jugs of various juices. The waitress at breakfast was friendly and efficient and checked several times that we had everything that we needed and that everything was alright for us. Just a short walk to town, yet nice and quiet, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this as an excellent place to stay.

Central location in Buxton and set along a beautiful promenade and opposite the lake. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. But it was the wonderful breakfast and the friendly staff that stole the show for us!

Very little. But the parking is pretty tight and we were grateful for the assistance of the owner when we arrived.
