Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome of the rooms have bad road noise. We paid at the top of what this accommodation is worth IMHO.
The staff were friendly and helpful and agreed to move us to a different room. Some of the rooms are right on the road and suffer from traffic noise, The couple at the back are much quieter. After we were moved, all was good. Nice, clean room and comfortable bed.

United KingdomA minor point but very poor phone signal in room and unable to access wifi. Not an issue for us but could be worrying if travelling alone. A grab handle above the bath would help when using the shower. The car park exit is blind and straight onto the main road.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Great room. Comfortable beds. Enjoyed excellent dinners in the restaurant.

United KingdomThe property has had a refit and it is very nice, but it would be good if a bath mat is in the bathroom, as the bath in our room was quite narrow and as your turning around it's very easy to slip , it does say that you can request one but I feel it would be nice if one was in ready for use .
Location is perfect for visiting Wentworth Woodhouse.

United KingdomBathroom (Room 7) was spotless but had a damp / old building smell despite it just being refurbished to a high standard, I think reason is that the secondary double glazing is not enabling the room to breathe when unoccupied by adding a fan or air vent may assist.
Room recently refurbished to a high standard

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything we really didn’t like, though we noticed a few things that might be useful to you; There seemed to be a wifi box on the ceiling but it didn’t seem to be on and though it said there was wifi in the room, there wasn’t any to log in to or a password available. There were no biscuits on the tea tray, which is a nice touch. The spacious adapted wet room was great, though the curtain rail was so close to the fold up disability seat that having it closed meant the was little room to shower. Having it open lead to the whole room becoming wet though. Perhaps the curtain could be moved out from the shower seat, say 6’’ to make better space?
Room was spacious and comfortable and the decor was very tasteful and calming. Water was hot in the bathroom and we slept really well. The room was nicely private and not overlooked or noisy at all.

United KingdomNo WiFi in the hotel and signal on a whole isn't great at Wentworth.Travelling from Guernsey, SIMs couldn't get any signal. This wouldn't have been a problem but there wasn't WiFi. Although it is advertised as having free WiFi. Car park is dirt/soil (not a hard surface) and in the weather is a mud bath, but guests have done really well not to trail through entrance of hotel. We had a family room, and the room would have been small if we had older children but was fine as they are young.
The rooms I understand to have had a recent refurbishment, and were nice. Lovely village, and close to all links to Sheffield, Rotherham, etc. The staff we did see were nice, especially the woman on breakfast.

United KingdomVery poor Wi-Fi/ internet and phone signal. I know the village has poor signal so this isn’t your fault.
I know the village of Wentworth so I am familiar with the beautiful location. The room was newly renovated, and was warm and very tastefully furnished. The beds were amazingly comfortable! The shower was hot and powerful.

United KingdomWi-Fi isn’t very good. Partner slipped in the shower also. Slip mats are available at reception but I think they’re cheap enough to come as standard.
Lovely new refurb. Greeted by 2 lovely bar staff on Christmas Eve. Taken over the road to our room and showed around by a very proud landlord and rightfully so. The rooms are now up to date and very homely.

United KingdomIt was a shame that when we turned up for breakfast (which to be fair we hadn't booked, but was advertised) it wasnt on due to lack of demand.
I stayed here just before the refurb, and although the staff and location at that time were great, the rooms were tired. T It's now plush and comfortable, and I was surprised more people weren't staying. The bar offers a good selection of drinks.

United KingdomNothing really. However it would have been useful to know that we could have parked our car in a dedicated area across the road from the pubs very busy car park.
The room was across the road from the hotel in a quiet part of a cottage and fulfilled our request for a quiet room please. The range of cask beers was good and the evening meal we had was excellent served in a pleasant eating area to the right of the entrance.

United KingdomThe bathroom was very cold and very outdated. There was a noisy heater (or something like that) running all through the night - i think its because its an old building but i could see it keeping some people up all night as it was very loud. They said there was wifi but it was so weak we couldnt connect to it in the room.
Staff were super friendly and the pub attached to the hotel was really nice - had lots of open fires. The room was warm and the bed was comfy.
