The property was cost and warm. Simply furnished it had everything one wanted (apart perhaps from a bathtub - there was an excellent shower!).

This is an adorable, typical Devon thatched cottage - well, actually part of the larger house, but it feels completely private. The location is secluded and beautiful, surrounded by deciduous woodlands and multiple footpaths

There is nothing to not like.

Fantastic location with great access to Dartmoor and the coast. If you enjoy good walking country, friendly pubs and a fabulous place to stay this is the house for you. We'll be visiting again.

Very welcoming hosts, the place literally has everything you would need. It's closed off from the main house but you would never know. It really is exceptional.

Key collection was simple, call at main house & Charles was there with keys, welcomed us & showed us around the property. Also explained how everything worked & made sure we had contact details in case of any problems (which there were none). The accommodation was warm & cosy, beds extremely comfortable & the shower hot & powerful. There was milk, bread & tea & coffee provided on arrival. The secluded location was stunning & lovely & easy for our dog.

We loved this cottage very much and if we were to be picky there was a lot of mould in bathroom which could do with sorting and a foot stool in the lounge would be welcomed. However, none of this would stop us staying again, we loved it and highly recommend it.

The cottage is set off the beaten track and our stay was so peaceful. The cottage was fully stocked with everything we could need and such a lovely touch to have fresh milk (from the farm up the road) and bread on arrival. The fresh flowers was a lovely touch too. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. We loved meeting little Hetty (dog) which our dog liked too!

If there's 1 negative thing to say, it would be the mould on the tiles in the shower.

Loved staying in a period house. The family is obviously house proud. Beautifully kept gardens too. We didn't stay long, so I wish we could have used the trails around the house more.

Nothing! Everything was perfect!

What a lovely stay at Rock House Cottage! We only wish we could have stayed longer! The host Charles was very welcoming and we loved their cockapoo Hetty! The cottage was very cosy while also feeling spacious and had great outdoor space. We were so lucky with the weather and ate outside for breakfast every morning in the beautiful garden, and played games outside in the evening. We also made use of the BBQ one evening which was great fun. Inside, the beds were very comfortable and the waterfall shower was heavenly! The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment you’d need. There were also basics like oil, salt, pepper, tea and coffee etc The hosts kindly included a nice loaf of bread, some butter, jam and milk too! Location wise, it was perfect for exploring Dartmoor and not far from Exeter and the coastline too. Couldn’t have asked for more! We had the best time and hope to return again in future!

What a very beautiful authentic house with a great view. On arrival we received Charles with his cute dog Hetty (so sweet) a short word of welcome and explanation. The house consists of a cozy sitting room, fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The whole house and garden are really beautifully decorated. We have been to Drogo Castle and Buckfast Abbey, both highly recommended. You also see a lot of Dartmoor along the way.

Stayed three weeks in this lovely cottage in a very quiet location. Great facilities in a well stocked kitchen. Comfy warm lounge (it was January) and gorgeous walks out the door. Hosts were just lovely making sure everything was fine for us

it’s clearly very popular and therefore needs a bit more of tlc in the general uptick and cleaning in my honest opinion. That wouldn’t necessarily stop me staying again and I would want to know.

The living room area was a little smaller than we expected, but it was cosy, not cramped. Could do with a fan or ventilation in the shared bathroom, although it could be a listed building, so that might not be possible.

Great location, and ideal for our purpose. Very interesting property, and our first time in a thatched cottage. Dog friendly too, which was to 'Peppers' liking. The bread, butter, and milk were a nice touch.

A beautiful cottage with generous space for the three of us and 2 dogs. Charles met us when we arrived and was friendly and helpful. It is very well equipped and maintained. Extra touches like fresh milk, bread, butter and jams and a vase of fresh flowers made it more special. It has a secluded private garden with seating and access to their own woods. There are scenic walks from the door and lovely views from the lounge and bedroom. An interesting selection of books to browse, helpful local information provided and some stunning artworks on the walls. Just a lovely place.

The owner had thought of all the extra tou hes (groceries, toiletries) which makes the difference. Comfortable and relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings
