Breakfast was ok. Sausages need cooking though! It’s quite cramped and dark around the serving area. You feel it just needs sorting a bit better.

The bed could be a little bigger but on the whole we loved room 52

The first room we were given did not represent the price and the booking. After expressing my disappointment to the management, I was immediately given a much better standard of room that reflected the price I had paid. We then had a great stay! Spacious with a balcony that we could sit out on and a comfortable bed.

Room described on Booking.com as having a large double bed. This was not the case and simply a normal sized one. Had I realised that prior to our visit I would not have completed the booking as a bigger bed was a priority for us

Breakfast is a little chaotic, we didn't enjoy the food at our last stay, but happy to say its improved since. However, second morning they had plate service instead due to low capacity which is great as it reduced waste, but no one told us so we just kind of hovered wondering what to do? We didn't realise you could order off the breakfast menu so we panic ordered a few items...and well I'll leave a photo. All it would have taken was a "morning, we're doing plate service today, find yourself a table, you can order off the menu or build your own, pop back and order with your table number". I was just made to feel a bit idiotic for not automatically knowing what the process was when it wasn't the usual buffet. Air conditioning - at our last stay, the room had air con so I naively assumed all rooms did. They do not - it's October so this may not be an issue for most, but I get warm and probably would have asked specifically for a room with air con had I known so just something to consider. There was a window but we were on the ground floor and it opened wide so didn't feel comfortable keeping it open overnight.

This was our second stay this year - we love the location. Free parking, On the water with access to the ferry, bus stop round the corner that goes all the way from kendal, through Bowness, ambleside, grasmere to keswick so you don't have to bother with driving! And a 15-20 minute walk into ambleside. The room we stayed in this time had it's own little front door which was very convenient! The rooms are decorated well and have lots of space. Beds are comfy and rooms are clean! We had dinner one night and the pizza was nice, good selection of drinks etc.

Nothing I didn’t like. Our rooms shower was lukewarm so I told the gentlemen on reception and he moved us to another room (an upgrade) which we hadn’t expected but we’re thrilled with nevertheless. Lovely hot shower, clean comfy beds!

Great location at Waterhead- beer garden right by the lake. Excellent breakfasts. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy.

Some queues during breakfast due to number of people and small size of room where buffet held but quality of breakfast was good.

Great location with amazing views. Dog friendly. Plenty of parking. Paid extra for late check out which was good. Excellent food both light bites at lunch and meals in the evening.

Although we knew it was a dog friendly hotel there were far to many dogs , also dog poo outside left by lazy owners.

No meals serve on 18th pm due to problems in the kitchen Dining had to be considered elsewhere which caused much inconvenience Shower in room, very cold shower worked well but warm water shower only trickled, hence was not a good experience at all after a long day walking

Beer garden very busy and long queues for the bar and food ordering in the evening. Breakfast a bit chaotic and not good quality. We stayed in the rooms across the road from the main building and although the front door was on a key card system, people kept leaving it unlocked so anyone could get in.

Great location on water's edge with perfect views of jettys and boats and wildlife. Great sunset when the conditions are right. Clean and comfortable room. Very nice pizza.
