Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe single track roadway has so many potholes ! Could damage the wheels / tires. Good thing we were home before dark as one wouldn’t see the holes.

United KingdomI don't have anything that I didn't like.
My welcome was fantastic - cheerful and welcoming. The room was really lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and my chat with the ladies in the morning. The location is amazing - I live on Skye and will be back for another overnight stay towards the end of the season.

CanadaEnjoyed a lovely stay here! About a half hour from Portree making for a great base to explore the island. The very long driveway was unexpected but made for some fun videos with the sheep wandering through. The hotel itself was charming and very comfortable; our room has a great view of the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe bed could have been a little comfier but really that is the only complaint. The room was comfortable and the view was excellent. I cannot stress enough how helpful the staff were.
The location was very remote, which was exactly what we were looking for, but we definitely made sure to do the drive while there was still plenty of sunlight to avoid hitting any potholes or sheep. The people working there were excellent and extremely helpful. The room felt a little stuffy, but we were checking in on a hot day, so that could explain it.

United KingdomThe road up to the hotel was poor, avoiding pot holes and a cattle grid which was extremely bumpy even at very slow speeds. I guess it adds to the character of the place :)
The room was very good, we loved the view the bed was comfy. Breakfast and evening meals were very good and the staff were most welcoming and friendly.

United Arab Emirates1. Access to hotel is a 2 mile road that is one lane (single file) and is in bad shape. 2. The area (Greshornish) is sparsely populated and the initial feeling on arrival was that we had come very far away from humanity. But we were enjoying the secluded location by the next day. 3. Nothing much to do here. Nearest town with restaurants is Dunvegan, which is 12 miles (approx 10 minutes) away. We didn’t try the restaurent at the hotel. 4. No housekeeping during the stay.
1. The view from the rooms. 2. Our double room was spacious, with lots of natural light and recently renovated. 3. Very quiet 4. Good breakfast (even though uncooked) 5. Helpful and positive front-office staff 6. Guest parking 7. Lots of sheep roaming free (unique experience).

United Arab Emiratesno cleaning during the stay - we did not mind it but some guests may expect it. also the room had a bit of unpleasant smell. there is a shortage of staff on the entire island, but prices remain premium.
amazing secluded location with the views over the loch. we stayed in the courtyard room with a cosy bedroom upstairs. the breakfast is all you need (continental), the restaurant opens every other day and the food was ok. the owners allowed us to stay with our daughter (3 y/o) as an exception as this is an adults only place.

United StatesWell.... if someone could re-surface that 2 mile road leading to it -- ! But, not a real problem. I and my car were just fine after 3 days of driving back and forth on it.
Beautiful location, extremely friendly helpful staff, great food -- couldn't be better! A charming-looking place to stay -- and (importantly) very comfortable, too. Not exactly a central location on the island (not that that's the property's fault!) -- but, hey -- just that much more beautiful scenery to get to drive in, to reach other venues!
