Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI booked the room for two of my friends and they didnt have any complaints.
My friends who I booked your hotel for were very pleased with everything. The atmosphere and entertainment was a very lovely surprise for them as they do not get out much due to health and age so after travelling to you they were very pleasantly surprised by the welcoming staff , comfort and cleanliness.

United KingdomThe decor is old-fashioned and could do with up-dating, though the carpet was new. The washbasin had a crack in it and the shower screen wouldn't stay in place on our last morning, hence a pool of water on the floor! The taps and bath handles were rather corroded (not rusty). As with a lot of older hotels, the floor was extremely creaky!
The room and bathroom were both spacious. The location just opposite the pier on the seafront was excellent and the shopping centre was about 10 minutes' walk away. We enjoyed strolling along the pier and looking in the little shops there. Breakfast was adequate with a selection of cereals, yogurt and tinned fruit (prunes and grapefruit). There was a good choice of cooked food, too.

United KingdomBreakfast service was a bit laboured, and there was either a long wait for your food, or it arrived before you finished your juice. The staff were great though.
Staff were great, location excellent. View terrific. We had a lovely stay.

United KingdomNothing.
Really good value for money. As long as you know what type of hotel you're staying in, you won't be disappointed. Lots of OAPs arriving in coaches and cheesy entertainment. Basic breakfast. But we knew this before we booked. It was cheaper and more comfortable than a travel lodge.

United KingdomThey had a film crew there over taking the space.the coach parties said they were bribed with free drinks, not us. The staff and the coach parties knew nothing happens on a Wednesday nights but we were only there Tuesday and Wednesday night . I'd of booked a different two days. We sat in the ballroom it gradually went pitch black as the sun went down.just 3 people.
The location is perfect. We loved the room with a sea view.

United KingdomThe breakfast requires improvement. Either lower the price or improve the quality. As we skipped our paid for breakfast the second day due to the food being served on hot hot plates yet cold and toast also being cold. Additionally slim continental options available. The ketchup was watered down and the apple juice far too sweet. For £1 extra we sourced great value breakfast buffet food elsewhere
Location entertainment facilities in the room and view from the room were brilliant

United KingdomThe breakfast was probably one of the worst I've ever had. Our order was taken twice as the waiter forgot he actually already asked what we wanted. The second thing that put me off was the room service. Do not disturb sign was displayed on the door but the cleaning lady entered our room anyway. She just opened the door and said she was told we had checked out. I was slightly shocked.
The location is just great, nice and friendly receptionist. Car park available for guests and breakfast included in the price.

United KingdomThe hotel is big and old, and gets the full force of the sea air and wind so of course it needs maintenance, both inside and out. Inside deco is very "Old English" but I find that quite quaint, rather than just shabby. The hotel does need a face lift, but would cost a fortune to do everything all at once, so for the moment it is what you would term as "a bit run down in places". Value for money you cannot knock it, if you want "posh" then book a much more expensive hotel, but the Queens Hotel for a good nights sleep with super friendly staff is good.
The hotel location is great. The staff very friendly. The bed was super comfortable and the bed linen very white, clean and crisp, along with the lovely white fluffy towels. Good to have coffee and tea making facilities available in the room too!

United KingdomRoom could do with some redecorating as it was very outdated. On Saturday the room was very hot at night and it was at the beginning very uncomfortable to try and get to sleep.
The location and also the staff were very helpful in booking my car for the car park to ensure me and my girlfriend could go exploring straight away as we arrived in the morning. They also allowed my car to stay there until 4pm once we checked out so we could stay longer in Eastbourne

United KingdomThe hotel is not our style and not somewhere we would normally chose to stay. If we had to find something to criticise it was that the room was made up for one person and we had booked for two but as mentioned above, when we asked for extra towels and mug they were provided straight away.
We stayed here at short notice due to another location cancelling our reservation at the last minute (Boutique Nights - don't book it). As a result this was not our preferred location or hotel type. That said, the hotel is right on the sea front by the pier, the room was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful. We booked a small double room as we only needed somewhere to sleep. The room was made up for one person but we were two, so we had to ask for extra towels, mugs etc, which were provided immediately upon request. We had room only so cannot comment on the breakfast or meals in general. It is a big old fashioned hotel which from our one night there caters mainly for pensioners on holiday. It offers evening entertainment and bingo.

United KingdomA few added extras would have been good in the room like some shower gel in the bathroom, tissues in the bedroom and a fan would have been good because of the heat! Also some fresh fruit for breakfast maybe?
Great stay at Queens Hotel. There was alot to like. Location - amazing just being across from the pier and we could park for free Staff - who were very happy to let us park on the day we arrived and the following day as we left and also all staff were very friendly. Room - great size room and we could see the sea from our window.
