Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAlthough I liked the balcony it was not clean. It hadn't been cleaned prior to my arrival as there was rubbish outside from mcdonalds, cigarette boxes and cigarette butts. I didn't like the fact that they took £199 deposit out of my account for a two night stay and still haven't had it back yet. The bathroom was too small. The stairs up to the apartment was ridiculous. No lift for about 60 or more steps. It was too hot, no fan or air con. The bed was too small.
I liked the balcony and the kitchenette in the apartment.

United KingdomI could not access my emails so checking in was a nightmare. We couldn't check in or access the key code until we paid another deposit. Then when we were finally able to sort this the link failed and we still couldn't access the key safe code. We ended up calling a number of times to remedy this but it took an hour to sort it all out. The lady we spoke to was very helpful and lovely but not everyone has access to Wi-Fi or emails and mobiles when travelling. We ended up with a fine from a traffic enforcement officer, we don't know the city and ended up parked in an area we were not allowed to whilst trying to maintain a Wi-Fi signal and close to the apartment. It was very stressful and this process needs reviewing.
The location was perfect, very central but we were not disturbed by people leaving restaurants, bars or clubs.

United KingdomThe size of the room. I’d have preferred a bigger space. Staying in a room on the topmost floor without a lift made it difficult to move around as climbing the stairs all the way up drains you of all your energy
The location is just perfect. Good access to everything

CanadaIt was the first time I've ever used an email code to access a lock box to check in and that might have been better explained if I'd phoned ahead of time. I was confused because I got emails about an app and I had no idea what was meant; finally I understood from messages back and forth that there was a line in the email (that I got on the morning of the day that I was to check in), with a tiny padlock symbol that I had to click. Then I got a lock box code. I found that whole process was very stressful - to not know if I'd be able to get in until I actually got the key! Next time I would know the drill. Wi-fi was very poor for the first 24 hours and that's something I've seen mentioned in reviews.
Location wonderful and the room was quiet, big, very clean, bright and comfortable - with a tiny balcony overlooking a nice view of the city. Self-contained with tea and coffee. Shower was great. Some reviews mentioned that there was no elevator so I checked with the property and they were able to change my room to a first floor room, so that was good. I didn't know that I had been automatically booked into a room on a higher floor; all I'd been given was a room number. So there are no rooms on the ground floor and the property should make that clear so people with heavy cases and/or disability can ask to specify. That's something that the property should do. After I checked in, I did receive a couple of phone calls to make sure everything was ok. So I appreciated that customer service.

United KingdomThe flat was only accessible by four flights of steep stairs which wasn't great, in addition I had to pay a £200 deposit on top of already paying for the room, the website claimed this wouldn't actually be taken from my account but it was and was only refunded five days after I checked out.
Lovely flat right in the city centre - bed was very comfy and the mini kitchen was useful. Bathroom was great, and the balcony was an added bonus. I had an issue with the wifi not working on the third day of my stay but my messages to the owners were replied to very quickly and the issue was sorted within two hours.

UK1. No lift available and had to climb multiple floors to get to my room. 2..the after experience of my stay. I received an email with images of damages and mising items from the room and informed that they would be deducted from my down-payment. Post instructing them to carry out their due diligence and investigate the matter there was no communication. . Post following up with the team as I hadn't received a response, I was later informed that it was a mistake. Learning lesson for future stays- take a video of the room when checking in and out as your evidence. I would have returned to this property if I had not experienced the latter.
Location and the property met my need for a short stay In Swansea. .

United KingdomA few small issues - the apartment was above a bar that was noisy on the nights I stayed. The check in process was difficult as none of the links in the messages worked and finally, I couldn't get the blinds to close fully, so the sun woke me up!
The apartment was close to the city centre and the beach. It was small, but well equipped.

United KingdomThe beds were rock hard to sleep in and then on our last day we noticed the memory foam mattress was underneath the actual mattress witch is crazy the bedroom was very small for the amount of money we had to pay no lifts in the building and we were right at the top and had to carry suitcases all the way up to our room ! There was a drip coming from the tap in the kitchen the bathroom stunk of drains the smell of cat urine and cannabis was over bearing! the coffee machine did not work , other guests early hours of the morning running and banging our door and every time you open the blinds to go out on to the terrace they all kept falling down I am from Swansea and I picked this place for me and my partner to stay for 4 days for my 30th birthday and I was so disappointed all the money I paid for a box room , the host seemed friendly enough but never met them it was all over phone calls also I was not made aware of any deposit not by the host or by the website and on the day I received an email stating I need to pay £1 then £199 was attempted to be taken from my bank I almost had a heart attack so then I had to find £199 from family members these things should be made noticeable

United KingdomThe room advertised online (the one I choose) is not the same place as pictures. The room is super small for 2 adults to do their work, there was no work space as in the pictures advertised there was. There was no warm running water to shower (not even lukewarm) The internet wasn't working. This is an issue as the only reason this room was booked because there was enough space as advertised in the pictures. On the pictures there was more than enough for space for 2 adults to do their work, but we were both unable to connect, as it was a leisure/buisness stay as it states the wifi works online. The room was so hot when we walked in that we couldn't stay inside for over an hour as there was no fan in the room provided, we had to sleep with the doors wide open in Swansea central all night (it's not quiet) We Rang air bnb to help and she tried but wasn't able to resolve on the phone and said she would ring back, nobody called us to help so we slept early. We left at 6am as nothing worked. United KingdomThe apartment was centrally located in a fairly new building but without any elevators. The apartment was smaller than expected with limited space to move around. The room would be suited for one individual or a student but not for Airbnb (it seemed the room was converted from student housing). Amenities: There were no storage spaces or luggage stands to keep your personal belongings except for a study desk (which looked run-down), a large ironing table and a drying rack. On the first day of our arrival, we had issues with plumbing and Wi-Fi, there was no hot water from the shower and no working Wi-Fi. Upon contacting the hosts regarding the issues-they did not offer any reasonable solution such as providing us with another room. We requested for another room, but they said it was not possible. Instead, they asked us to send video/pictures of the shower with no hot water and the router in the building (which we would not know its location in the first place and considering we have no internet except for our data- we were expected to send these files to them). The toilet had an unpleasant smell from the drainage. The hot water from the taps in the kitchen and toilet gave out yellowish water. We had trouble connecting to the TV as people from other rooms were constantly connecting to our screens using Airplay. If you are traveling during the holiday season the streets can get loud and noisy at night and the apartment does not have soundproof windows which can be disturbing. As our experience on the first day was quite unpleasant and uncomfortable we decided to check out the next day. We requested the hosts to return our £200 deposit - they said they would after assessing the problem. However, as we had originally planned to stay in the room for 3 nights - we had expected to receive a refund or partial refund for the rest of the stay, but we did not receive any money back except the deposit and they stopped responding to our messages.
The studio apartment was centrally located with accessibility to cafes, supermarkets, and public transportation.

GermanyAccommodation is managed by StayRight, an office company which is only able to administrate invoices. They are unable to fix maintenance issues such as lack of hot water in the shower within the day let alone within four days. Wifi outage cannot be resolved remotely, but must be aided by the tenants in the other flat because the router is in that flat. They promised to send somebody to check on the issue, but we were never proactively informed about progress. They always responded to my messages, but emails don't fix showers, people do, and that's what they don't have, apparently. The travelodge hotel opposite the accommodation is the better choice at a competitive or even cheaper rate and my recommendation if you do not rely on a kitchen. I will not chose StayRight again, or any other accommodation where nobody is around to take responsibility.
The kitchen is quite nice, though knifes could be sharper. It has potential, if there are no issues.
