Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe room was super clean; the bed was comfortable; the hotel in under renovation; we were not informed about that. On the first morning we woke up due to hammer noices and people who were passing back and forth behind room’s window. It could be nice to be informed about that during check it, including noice hours

United KingdomThe mirrors in the bathroom- bright (tick) but to apply makeup one leans forward which means the light is behind you. Probably installed by a man or a naked face aficionada? Sadly this is a common fault.
A pleasant 10 minute stroll from King's Cross. Not too fab on the outside, but friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Room small, but newly refurbished without annoying cushions on the comfy beds. Loads of lifts equals swift access.Windows open. Shower can be handheld, so no splashing on the coiffure. Bright lighting means you can read in bed. Park across the road has historic Hackney carriage mini cafe (7 am to 2 pm) (bacon butty £4, chicken and chips £7.50). Grand hotel next door for your instagram if required.

United KingdomNot told of whole-floor building works during day prior to check in. No hot water any day from 10:00 till 16:00, but still serving meals and drinks without proper hand-wash available. All glass/mirrors in Atrium were dirty or smeared. Cobwebs of fittings in restaurant. Many light bulbs needed replacement.
Good location. Nice breakfast.

United KingdomI was on the seventh floor which could only be reached by a very small lift which was a little claustrophobic however you could go to the sixth floor and walk the last flight of stairs. This I discovered from myself would have been useful if the staff had pointed this out

SpainThere is only one lift to the 7th floor and three other lift for the rest of the floors. Despite this, the 7th floor lift was always being utilised by housekeeping staff and guests that needed to get to the other rooms. This made the waiting time quite long. I would suggest that they keep a sign on that lift that says it’s only for 7th floor guests. Another issue was that the cleaning staff kept knocking and talking loudly at 8am. I thought it was too early. In addition, housekeeping took more than one hour to bring the ironing kit to my room and then they never picked it up (in the next three days).
The rooms are clean and cozy and the location is perfect. The blonde (Italian?) receptionist was very efficient and helpful.

United StatesThis is a super-specific issue that will only apply to a few people, but I use a CPAP machine and the outlets by the bed (at least on the 7th floor) are USB-A and USB-C. If you need to plug in with a regular pronged plug, you will need to sleep with your head at the foot of the bed. This was perfectly comfortable, just something to be aware of.
We booked into 6 nights at the President the day we arrived in London, after other accommodations fell thru. In the end I felt very lucky that we ended up here instead! We stayed in a pretty teeny 7th floor room but the bathroom was a nice size and it was perfect for two people spending most of our time out and about. Staff was consistently terrific - kind, helpful, and patient even when things were very busy. We added daily breakfast to our stay and it was a very good value - the same selection every day, but so much variety that it doesn't get boring, and the food is fresh, nicely presented and very good. SUPER clean - lobby, dining room, hotel room, even the elevators. Our room was always turned in a timely fashion. You can tell that this hotel is well-staffed and that they are very concerned about the comfort of their guests. The location is very close to a traditional pub, a terrific bakery, the subway, the British Museum, the British Library, multiple bus lines, a full Waitrose grocery store, a lovely park, and many convenient places to eat. Couldn't be better.
