What an absolute delight to stay with Monika and Tony, such lovely hosts, extremely friendly and welcoming. They can’t do enough for you. We had a wonderful stay at Porters. The property is absolutely spotless, we stayed in the room with the bath.. stunning. The bed was super comfortable. The room was very clean.. and had all the little extras you need for a couple of nights stay. Breakfast was very good, especially the fruit and yoghurt, but there is a good choice of food on offer, and nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend staying at Porters, and when we return to Helmsley, we will certainly stay with them again. 🥰

We missed being able to make our own tea / coffee in the room as this is not catered for. Whilst we really enjoyed our breakfast of yogurt and fruit, it would have been nice to have the option of a traditional cooked breakfast, although bacon butties are available.

Bedroom and Bathroom were of a high standard of decor and fittings. Monica and Tony were terrific hosts and were able to give recommendations for evening meals. Monica bakes beautiful scones! Private parking at rear of the premises was very handy. Location good being pretty central in Helmsley.

Our hosts were exceptional and looked out for our needs and interests. We enjoyed getting to know them too, as contact with the local community makes visits more enriching. Plus, staying at a cafe is a bonus.

The location was perfect for our short stay. Historic town with easy access to the moors and coast. A wonderful welcome from Monika and Tony, made us feel as if we were home from home.

There was nothing I didn’t like but it would have been good to have coffee making facilities in the room.

The location was brilliant, easy to get to anywhere in Helmsley. Lovely hosts. Great parking. Lovely breakfast. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was amazing.

It was right in the middle of town with parking - the hosts were very friendly and helpful in suggesting places to eat etc - room tastefully furnished - breakfast served by a wood burning stove - very cosy

Slightly noisy on the main road with window open, but there’s very little traffic coming past overnight. A kettle with tea & coffee is the only extra thing we would have liked but overall we absolutely loved staying here and would stay there again happily

We would have liked a broader breakfast offer including for example porridge/cereal, a full English breakfast, scrambled or poached eggs etc, but we realise that this is very much a question our personal preference rather than an essential requirement.

Monica and Tony were excellent and friendly hosts. Our room was huge and the shower/bath were great. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable and all other facilities very good. Breakfast was substantial. We also got some great tips re local pubs and restaurants, for example the Helmsley Brewery.

Haven of comfort & warmth! Super kind hosts, we'd love to stay longer and will definitely be back ! Room and bath was so welcoming and comfortable ! Breakfast with warm scones, just out of the oven, perfect cappuccino... wish I could share the smell with you! Also, private parking much appreciated !

The location was great - near to the square in Helmsley. Hosts Monia and Tony were fabulous and provided a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was in the coffee shop and literally had choice of anything - fruit and yogurt, scones, bacon butties and drinks in abundance. Room was beautiful and very comfortable. Loved our stay and can’t wait to stay again.

The hosts were simply lovely…..they were very welcoming,gave great tips on what do and where to go. The room was spotless and beautifully presented, the bed was huge and I had a fantastic nights sleep. The breakfast was varied, the Greek yogurt and fresh fruit was lovely. On our last day we were given a goody bag of their scones which were delicious, thank you.
