Breakfast service very poor, staff made us feel like we were a nuisance asking for a table because they were busy with a wedding party, we were sat down but not notified it was self service , once we got breakfast we waited 10 minutes and went to the waitress and asked if we could have tea and toast , the waitress gave the impression we were bothering them, no interaction just chucked toast and tea down, I then had to fetch our sugar from another table , can’t say we enjoyed eating the breakfast

Been many times and we even got married there so we have good memories

Breakfast as good as anything we have had. Room was good but we had paid Booking.com to upgrade us to an executive room and this didn’t happen. A la carte dinner was nice but limited in choice

No mobile phone service--by that is not the Hotel's fault!

Restaurant menu has become very expensive. We opted to go out for dinners. Breakfast service was pretty good; marred only by one fairly unpleasant server (who has been there for many years). The young server was very good. The Terrace Bar Restaurant offers Fillet Medallions, but serves up only the tenderloin tail tip which is a cheat. Otherwise the food was good. The bar staff were very good.

    Nothing.

We upgraded our room on arrival for a competitive price and were pleased with the room. Little added touches such as a bath robe and slippers were welcome. Our room was generous in size and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We had a view of the garden which was lovely. Breakfast was also generous and there was plenty of choice. I am allergic to dairy and the staff ensured that I had oat milk and met all of my dietary needs without it seeming like an effort. There are plenty of places to sit in the hotel if you do not wish to stay in your room; in particular a gorgeous window seat at the top of the stairs above main reception - a perfect place for a cuppa! The hotel itself is in walking distance to the town (0.5 miles). We would highly recommend it.

Saturday morning breakfast buffet ran out of several items for us. Unsure who was supposed to keeping an eye on it. If I hadn't said anything, the large party that came in after us would have not been happy.

The bar staff were more interested in chatting than paying attention to their customers. In view of the price of drinks we expected a better level of service.

The building is a little bit tired with single glazing and creaky floorboards, but I think that would be expected.

The history and atmosphere of Petwood is worth a visit in itself. Anyone reading this probably knows this was the Officers' Mess from which the Dambusters started out, but there is so much memorabilia here that you almost have to don a flying suit, goggles and a pipe while reading everything on the oak walls and display cabinets. Breakfast was cooked to order and well above average, I particularly enjoyed the option of kippers - a rare treat that used to be standard at an English country hotel.

Please please remove the sign from the entrance to The Kinema. When driving it is difficult to see the arrow underneath the name. I am sure I cannot be the only person thinking this was the way in? The pot holes down there are dangerous!
