The only downside is it’s a little way out from places, down narrow county lanes. We took our bikes to go cycling but it would have been too dangerous. This however did not spoil our stay .. we just had to re plan.

Everything…. it was comfortable and clean with excellent hosts Andrew and Teresa. The breakfast choice was outstanding. Friendly goats, sheep and chickens that we were able to feed.

Nothing I didn't like about staying here.

Lovely location, the room was big and cosy. We had heard good reviews about the breakfast being amazing with fresh produce, however we were informed before our stay that this would not be available and that was fine! Considering coming back just for the breakfast!

Narrow country lanes, but these are normal within Cornwall. Would have liked thicker sliced toast for breakfast, but again a personal choice.

Andrew and Teresa were wonderful hosts that made you feel very welcome and offer first hand knowledge of the local area, including walks, parking and restaurants. Large room with a very comfy bed. Wonderful breakfast with lots of choices, you even had free range eggs from the hosts chickens. Quiet location with views over open countryside, yet within easy reach of Looe, Polperro and the coastal path. We were even able to feed the chickens, pygmy goats and sheep, something we have never done before and an enjoyable experience that I would recommend.

    Not much.

As fantastic as the comfort and cleanliness of the accommodation were, they were no match for enthusiasm and desire of the host to entertain and make our stay as enjoyable as can be.

    I can't think of anything.

Everything. The whole ambience of the accommodation, the surroundings, the proximity to Looe, and in particular the helpfulness and welcoming approach of Andrew and Theresa to their guests. Nothing was too much trouble. Almost forgot the breakfasts...and how could forget those delicious breakfasts..?

    Nothing to disappoint excellent hosts!

My partner spotted this gorgeous accommodation on booking.com when trying to book a little break for us. The travel time was a lot for the 1 night 2 day so looked for other accommodation that was closer but decided we couldn’t find one that looked as nice, aren’t we glad we made that decision! The hosts Andrew and Teresa made our stay so comfortable and even stayed up late to welcome us on our late arrival. Both amazing!! The room was stunning and the feeding experience with the animals was a lovely touch. Leaving Looe with a massive smile! Thank you Penvith Barns! X

    Loved it all

We loved everything about the property! Andrew and Teresa were so welcoming and helpful and gave us some great tips for places to visit. We loved feeding the sheep, goats and chickens one morning also! Would definitely recommend and was sad to say goodbye. Lovely location and lovely comfortable and clean rooms. Couldn’t really ask for more! Oh and the breakfasts were also delicious with locally sourced produce 🙂

Parking could be fun if you own 4x4s or pickups (like us!), but this is completely out of the owners control due to planning permission. Just something to consider before you roll up with your Chris Eubank 6 wheeler.

We stayed in the Hen House B&B to use as a base for Looe and Polperro. Andrew and Teresa run a gorgeous farm/B&B/Yurt property which feels out of the way but is just 10mins or so into Looe. The venue is over 400 years old and has history as a working mill and also with smugglers so is a really interesting place if you read up on their updates on the property and its developments. Breakfast is a simple process and was exceptionally good, covering all bases. They are also flexible on their menu checklist and are happy to do what they can as long as they have the ingredients. I had a special which was similar to a shakshuka, and made a great alternative to the usual fried breakfast setup (which I had another morning, with eggs from their own hens and locally sourced produce). The room could get a little cold in the late evenings but there was no secret about this, and not only was there a radiator in the bathroom but also an additional oil radiator and together could easily cover any bitter temp drops. The venue also has pygmy goats which you will want to smuggle out in your luggage when you leave, as well as hens and 3 sheep, and the owners are happy for you to interact and feed them if you wish. Weather permitting you have access to a rear open area with seating and views of the rear field and the vast farming lands infront, so if you want to feel out of the way but not too far from civilisation then this would be the place. Overall we had a great stay based on location to Looe, the property was beautiful and Andrew and Teresa are lovely, hospitable and kind people who make you feel welcome and comfortable from the start. If we ever went into the catering and accomodation business this is the type of property we would like to run. We would stay again, and if more than 2 of us next time we would look at the Yurt option as they look very acommodating.

Pinveth Barns was a lovely BnB located just outside Looe. It was easy to find and owned/run by very friendly couple who took interest in your plans and offered helpful advice on things like traffic and parking etc which was really useful in Cornwall during tourist season. Looe and Falmouth were both within driving distance and made for great trips to botanical gardens, boat tours and even an intro to sea kayaking. They also took a very practical approach to minimise food waste which I really appreciated and what little food waste there was is fed to some of their animals. If you ask nicely then you can go and feed the chickens, sheep and even Pygmy Goats.

Exquisite converted barns in a lovely quiet rural location just inland from the South West Coast Path and the sea. Very pretty, green and peaceful. Very handy for visiting the Monkey Sanctuary too - just up the road from it. Good size comfortable bedroom with additional small room with wardrobe and coffee/tea making facilities next to the bathroom. The hosts Andrew and Teresa made us more than welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Excellent varied breakfast - the Summer oats were tasty and refreshing and the freshly baked pastries were delicious! Andrew went out of his way to prepare exceptional vegan breakfasts for my partner which he absolutely enjoyed. They have chickens, pygmy goats, sheep and cute pet dogs. Very dog friendly accommodation. I requested and had the pleasure to meet their animals and Andrew let me feed the chickens and the sheep with his help. Extremely friendly hosts and excellent place away from the hustle and bustle! Absolutely enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend.

Loved our stay at Penvith Barns! Andrew and Teresa made us feel so welcome and had excellent local knowledge. Great location with fab views and good access to Looe, Millendreath, Polperro and Seaton. Cooked breakfast was fabulous and our room 'The Dairy was lovely and cool despite the boiling weather! Our 11 year old loved feeding the animals and insisted we return next year, which we will! :) Highly recommended and great value for money.
