The Aga blasts out heat, perfect if you need it, but opening windows to let heat out feels almost sinful to some!

A lovely spot looking down at River Roe; comfortable and unusual property that has everything you could possibly need in a home away from home. Spacious enough for groups/families.

The gate lodge is gorgeous. It has everything you could possibly need. We can't wait to go back. The location is perfect for exploring the North Coast, Derry and into Donegal.

The attic bedroom area had more limited headroom than expected…it would have been brilliant for children to use as a ‘get away’ from parents.

The location was excellent for access to the whole of the north & Antrim coasts. The conservatory off the main lounge had beautiful raised views.

Water pressure issue with ensuite and top bedroom got quite warm. Not sure how to turn the stove heating down so didn’t try.

Personally I found the bed in the main bedroom a tad uncomfortable - but that's just me. I couldnt get a couple of the recliners to work - again could just have been me.

Gate lodge had everything you could need. John is a fantastic host - thank you for explaining how to work the Aga 😁 so cozy with the fire lit. Surroundings are stunning & so peaceful. We really loved being able to dander through the estate. Really appreciated the welcome pack in the fridge. Can't wait until we can return for some peace & quiet.

We stayed here over Christmas. the house was so warm and cosy, and beautifully presented. the owner John is so friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend a stay at Pellipar Gatelodge if visiting Derry!

For my immediate and distant family, there was nothing about the Host or property we did not like.

The property was a home from home. It catered very effectively for three different groups of family. The house set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. We loved the walk along the track into town. We loved the arga which kept the home warm and cosy. But most of all we give thanks to our host John who was passionate in delivering the perfect all round package.

There is nothing not to like about this place, its amazing!

We liked everything! The place is amazing and we didn't stay long enough! The lodge is vast with plenty of room for all 5 of us to spread out. It has everything you would need, and John is very attentive to your needs. The location is also stunning and very convenient for getting around the local area. We will absolutely be coming back for a longer holiday in the future!

It was a little cold and took most of the first day to get heated to a decent level, otherwise stay was perfect. Nothing can be done about the heat, very large property.

The beds were a little uncomfortable. This was the only issue.

The location is lovely and very peaceful. The house itself is beautiful. The AGA cooker was an immediate winner for all the ladies! I spent my whole stay trying to choose a favourite room, and I couldn't. The main living room is stunning, such a nice feel to it and very cosy. The sun room is also great, especially in the morning for the views. Kitchen is huge and has everything you would need. Gardens are lovely.

This is an excellent place to stay in a stunning part of Northern Ireland. John, the host, was genial and helpful. Enjoyed cooking on the Aga and settling in by the wood burner.
