The window washer came as we were packing up and wet the floor slightly - he didn't realize the door was open. Plugs in weird places, didn't know if we were meant to move the mirror to plug things in...

We're biased because we stayed for our wedding but the staff were excellent and the beds were so comfy! The rooms that we booked we're a good size with views out over the fields at the back which had Highland cows in! Breakfast was delicious and the food can't be faulted (although if eating in the restaurant ask them to go light on the salt)

We booked 2 rooms, they were beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. Spacious too. The grounds were nicely landscaped. The restaurant food and breakfast were good too. Pleasant staff.

If I was being really picky the only thing that I would change would be the pillows, the bed was super comfy but the pillows were very hard.

No one on reception when we arrived. When they did come out of the office they appeared to be finishing off eating something and furiously coughing (no hand sanitiser used after the coughing episode) then proceeded to tell us they had Covid the week before and still had a chest infection (no issue with this as people need to get back to work) but could have been a better greeting and more hygienic. Then when we came to check out the receptionist was coming out of the office and continued to talk to a colleague before they came to check us out - making their conversation more important than guests

The shower floor was like an ice rink.

Hugh comfortable beds. Countryside view from window. Large breakfast menu cooked to order. Continental selection replenished as necessary. Requests dealt with promptly and unobtrusively. Friendly smiling staff.

Wifi coverage could have been more consistent, especially in the bedroom. In other areas the roaming was not seamless across wireless access points in different areas in the property. The result was dropping the network and/or no access.

Great location to access the Peaks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern and comfortable bedroom overlooking grounds. Restaurant and bar area cosy and comfortable. Breakfast good quality and selection. Evening meal similar. Just all round positive stay and we will be back!

I really struggled to find something to eat at dinner and did not enjoy what I chose. Had hoped to fill up with dessert but nothing that either of us fancied.

Very nice quiet room. Always happy when there are 2 armchairs to enjoy watching the tv etc. The cooked breakfast was great but let down by the poor fruit selection and, strangely, not a good cup of tea. Lovely toast too. The style and decor of the hotel and restaurant was tasteful.

The bathroom made a musical sound every time we turned on the light. Distracting if one of us needed to use it during the night and woke up the other person.
