Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalNo lift. Leakage in the ceiling. I stayed two nights and in the second night it started to rain after a week with almost no rain. Suddenly I was waken by a big water leakage from the ceiling into my bed. It was next to electric circuitry, and therefore, apart from the discomfort, there was also fear of an electric shock. I had to pack and be moved to another hotel in the same street in the middle of the night, under constant rain. The staff was very helpful. The issue is that there was already visible damage in the ceiling before it started to rain, and I understood later on that the hotel knew this was a risk and still rented the room. I asked for a full refund of only this night where I couldn’t rest, and unfortunately they refused it and offered a partial refund instead. It was before an early flight l, so I couldn’t rest which was the purpose of the stay. I find it’s regrettable that they didn’t assume full responsibility for a major issue like this.
Location close to Hyde park. Tube and bus stopes around.

United StatesWe weren't aware our room was designed for accessibility. This made the bathroom situation tricky/not ideal. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for its front desk feature. The front desk was unlike any we have encountered in a large city, so a learning experience for us. It was our first visit to London and we had hoped to receive some direction from the front desk. They had no map of the city and provided no interaction of any kind. Our room key opened the front door to the hotel and once we checked in we saw no staff on duty. Apparently once we checked in they were across the street at a different hotel? It just felt a little wierd to have no one at the desk and no staff on site. But, as mentioned before, we were able to check in early, and that was nice.
We checked in early to store our luggage, and our room was ready for us. We were able to put our luggage in our room and get organized. This was a nice surprise. We appreciated the bottled water in the room.

United StatesNo elevator!!! We had to drag our heavy bags up 7 flights of stairs. If you gave light luggage it’s great, but like many London hotels, not having an elevator is ridiculous! If you are handicapped, nit a good place to stay.
The location was great. A few blocks from Paddington station. The room is on the top floor and is really nice and comfortable and a good size. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

IsraelThere is no elevator, which made it a challenge, but we were only on the first floor.
The location was an easy ten minute walk to Paddington, and it had loads of restaurants and shopping nearby.

United KingdomThere is no breakfast offering. It is a bit difficult to reach some of the floors with suitcases as there is no lift. However, during daytime the hotel has staff helping out with that. Check-out time was quite early.
Friendly staff and very comfortable bed. Decent room, nothing too extravagant.

United StatesRoom size. Not for two people. Double bed with no side room and rough sheets if you toss and turn. . The bathroom is too small. Had difficulty shaving in the tiniest vanity. Smaller than a standard pedestal. No elevator. They offered help with the luggage but had to wait for assistance from sister hotel across the street. No 24 hour desk. Make sure you do not lose your card which taps you in after 20:00. Otherwise you need to go across the street for help. I would request two cards. As a fyi, the tube with bank card is a tap in and out. Make sure you register an exit tap out otherwise it's a full fare day charge. If we were carrying smaller bags the room might be ok but bathroom is just too small.

United KingdomThe room was a little on the small side, particularly the bathroom. I had to stay an extra night and they charged me a 50% premium for the same room. That left a nasty taste to what would otherwise have been an enjoyable stay.

United KingdomThe sliding shower doors didn't really close properly, making the floor wet outside.
The room is small but you don't need much more space. The bathroom is clean and is more than sufficient for a night or two. The bed is really comfortable, the tea/coffee making facilities are good, the TV works well, heating/air con worked perfectly. Bottles of mineral water were in the fridge on our arrival. The thick curtains block the light from the street at night. Our room was facing the road (not sure if there are other kinds of rooms...) so we heard ambulances and motorbikes in the early evening, but nothing unbearable in a big city. The staff offered us to leave our luggage after we checked out, to be picked up again before taking the train. That was a nice touch.

DenmarkExtremely small cink in the bathroom. Would have preferred a bigger one even if it means the bathroom would be a bit more crowded then. You could hardly get your mouth over the cink without hitting the wall with your head. Mattress was not the most luxurious and comphy but it was OK. Rooms here, and at the co-owned Hotel across the street, was discounted when we were there to around half the price of what we paid, so if you book early you pay premium prices as compared to daily prices if they have too many available rooms. It's a gamble to book layer of course but it's a bit annoying to see that you could have stayed for half the price. Feels like you've been fooled a bit.
Nice location close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Clean and safe neighborhood. 15 min to SOHO. Newly renovated. Nice tea, coffee and water facility. Fairly spacious room.

United StatesStaff took a little while to help me even though I was the only customer there, and after a long flight waiting to be helped was tiring and annoying. Also, the hotel makes you check-in in another hotel so if you have alot of bags it will be quite difficult, especially if you are tired.
Good location, room was really nice, even though it was in a basement - it was spacious, clean, with a great bedroom and a VERY nice room for the middle of London, right near the park. I was very happy with the room, personally.
