Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was a little bit far from the centre of Oxford, where my conference was, but that is not the fault of the lodge. The lodge was lovely
The stuff were so kind I went to Saint Maria and a lovely young man. I think his name was.Theio and the beds were very comfortable and the pillows were nice and my room looked over a leafy garden. It was just lovely thank you to the staff for their kindness and help

United KingdomRoom was very basic and a bit crammed but there aren't many hotels in Oxford that offer family apartments/ rooms. We had a family room.

FranceJunior staff should take note of special requests when allocating rooms!
Very friendly and accommodating staff who managed to find us a room with a shower for the second night as requested. This room was in a newer wing and was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel was in a perfect location near Wolfson College and the breakfast was plentiful and varied and there was parking round the back.

United KingdomGreat location for visiting Oxford, hotel is as you’d expect from a chain hotel. It was clean, comfortable, room was large and had everything we needed. Buffet breakfast had a wide range of options cooked and continental. There was a onsite bar and restaurant although we choose to eat out. There was a really great pizza place about 10 min walk away called Little Venice, there were two great old fashioned pubs on the same little street, well worth a visit. The hotel is also 5 houses away from Tolkiens house, a good spot for any fans.

United StatesThe shower door needs to be repaired. A nice touch would have been to offer a complimentary breakfast.
The Linton Lodge is an older, clean, accommodating hotel. The beds were comfortable, and the room was large. The bathroom was clean, but the shower door would not close properly. There was a fan in the room, which we appreciated. We drove into Oxford and had to pay for parking, which was not a surprise. We did not partake of the breakfast. It was not complimentary and cost over 15 EUR. The hotel is on a quiet street and is not far from the town center. Overall, it was a comfortable stay at a good price.

United KingdomOur room was in a very noisy area of the hotel. There were no signs asking guests to respect others who may be asleep. As a result we were subject to guests speaking at the top of their voices outside our room, and to heavy internal doors banging in the night. Our room was room 11, ground floor just off reception. Spoke to reception team but it made no difference.
Good location for getting into the centre. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly.

NetherlandsCarpet in the ground floor hallways was rippling, which is a pity for the appearance. As described above, there is no airconditioning which worried me when I saw the weather forecast before our stay, but it was no problem for our ground floor room. The room had windows that opened to the garden so plenty of fresh air could flow in. Insect screens could enhance this.
Our experience was better than expected based on the reviews I read beforehand. The hotel is not new but we found it quite charming. The residential area around the hotel is fantastic, beautiful and quiet, with an easy bus trip into Oxford centre and shops and restaurants walking distance in the other direction (in Summertown). Our car was safely parked behind the hotel. Though it was 30 degrees Celsius when we stayed, we didn't really miss airconditioning because we had a relatively cool room on the ground floor. We enjoyed reading in the garden after our day trip.
