When we arrived it was in total chaos in the foyer with a wedding party going on and guests everywhere.. We had to wait quite a while for anyone to come to reception. We didn't mind the fact there was a wedding (although we weren't informed when we booked) but it did affect the service in the evening. We had booked a table in the dog friendly bar area for dinner but ended up just queuing for ages at the bar to order food as the staff were just rushing about tending to wedding guests. The food was amazing when we finally got it.

A beautiful hotel in a really lovely setting. Large comfy room, nice lounges and breakfast room/conservatory. The food was absolutely delicious.

I think there should be complimentary bottles of water in the room. The breakfast was delicious but I would prefer a pot of coffee brought to the table rather than self serving from the flask.

TV reception in the room was a bit hit and miss the room could benefit from bedside tables and a mirror in the room this would not put us of staying again.

One of our rooms was a little tired (light switches sticking and sink a little blocked). The breakfast was amazing last time we stayed; this time it was perhaps not so good (less choice perhaps due to slow restocking) but to be fair it was still nice.

The staff were generally excellent; thoughtful and helpful. The hotel itself is set in lovely grounds around a golf course. It is a grand building and seems to be mid-renovation. This meant that one of our two rooms was newly refurbished whilst the second, was a little tired. I really appreciated being asked about the stay on checking out and the Manager was interested in the feedback. Clearly the hotel wants to keep improving and doing their best.

The comfort and cleanliness was first rate. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was excellent and good value as was the breakfast. The building itself was even larger and grander than shown on the website.

Beautiful hotel for the last night of our honeymoon. Dinner was exceptional! We’ve eaten great food food but this was the best! We chose an executive double which was worth the extra money as it was spacious with a lovely bathroom. The toiletries smelt amazing and the big bath towel was sheer luxury! There was an iron and an ironing board hidden in the wardrobe so I could quickly remove the creases from my dress before dinner. Just perfect! The staff were lovely-especially our waiter at dinner who was so friendly and helpful.

Our room was unexpectedly wedged open with a towel at check in which could not be explained and the receptionist seemed both confused and unsure what to do to find out. The bar staff were chaotic but friendly when served.

The room we were given was big, the décor was all new and the bathroom had recently been refurbished but the only drawback was that you couldn't see out the windows as we were at ground level and they were screened for privacy, a blind would have been better so we could choose whether to be seen or not. Breakfast was ok but all pre-cooked and sitting under hot lamps. Dinner was really good especially the fish and chips.
