The only reason this isn’t a 10 for me was the service in the restaurant was quite slow on a Tuesday evening - the restaurant itself was not even half full but I had to ask multiple times for tap water and a glass of wine which was a shame. The food however was lovely!

Lovely spa facilities (I only used the pool but it was great!) and good sized rooms for an overnight stay. Staff were very friendly!

My husband and i upgraded the room, however was little disappointed. We didn't think this was value for money. We were in an interconnected room and felt this wasn't that private. We could hear the other couple talking therefore i would assume they could hear us. The bed was not comfortable and for the money we paid we wouldn't advise anyone else to upgrade based on our stay.

Hotel's beautiful, enjoyed the facilities and spa area. Food was very nice.

The dinner menu was disappointing, lacking in choice and the schnitzel was tough as old boots

Breakfast staff very professional and organised unlike the evening staff who need to be a little more professional. There to play golf ⛳️,I think the course should have been closed,it was playing in a swamp and both of us were so dirty afterwards!!!

The only shortcoming was the lack of appropriate hanging space in the wardrobe solved by removing the ironing board completely and losing it in the room. For one night stays not a problem but longer than that it was. No drawers in dressing table or either of the bed side tables added to our surprise.

Breakfast - superb choice including full English and specials by request. Gluten free catered for on request. Room - no problem for a disabled visitor with comfortable bed and equally comfortablle arm chairs. Large TV. Dinner - a highlight was the standard of meals and including for GF.. Access was excellent for the disabled with shallow permanent ramp to the front entrance. Lifts to first floor helpful. Parking for disabled was mimimal at some 6(?) spaces such that we had to "drop" and park elsewhere for two of our three nights. We are aware there were other but less convenient blue badge parking for us to the rear.

Had to complain about phone not working but it was fixed. Disappointed I couldn’t have dinner at an early time it was a table for one and feel they could have fitted me in as I would only have needed 45mins to eat dinner. Restaurant staff could have been more knowledgeable

The pool was too full at times so we could not use it which was quite frustrating as children swim times are limited.

Common areas, barr and the restaurant are beautiful. The pool is great and allows children. Staff were very professional and super friendly.

There was a mosquito cooked into one of the eggs. The tv was broken. Only a couple of channels were watchable. They still use antenna signal. Nice hotels should have Netflix/sky as standard.

The breakfast was nice, lots of choice. The room was nice and clean. Tea making facilities and refrigerated water in the room which was appreciated. The shower was good. Check out time at 11 is later than most hotels so didn’t feel rushed to get out. The receptionist, Josie, was friendly and welcoming.

The duvet was very heavy and warm There sounded like there was a huge boiler on the other side of my wall? It made a constant loud noise both nights and woke me up on several occasions, which contributed to 2 average to poor night sleeps.

The hotel says that it is dog friendly but the dog is only allowed in the Great Hall, in the room and in the garden. This meant that we had to eat all our meals in the great hall and we weren't even allowed in the bar or drawing room (we had a toy poodle with us and carried her everywhere!). Spa was not to the standard I would have expected for this type of establishment. I would have been disappointed if I had booked it for a spa weekend.

Room was disappointing, a lot of mould on the window frames, bathroom very dated, old towels, not very go quality and bedding was not good quality
