We recently stayed at the Old Waverley Hotel and found it quite acceptable. In fact compared to some of our other accommodation booking.com should consider upgrading this to a four-star rating from a three-star rating. The hotel is about as close as you can get to the train station, it's quiet upstairs and the rooms are fine.It is an old hotel but we didn't feel that marked it down in any way. We would be confident recommending this hotel to anyone else.

It was a bit expensive for the type of hotel. Superb tourist location though. I wasn't a tourist

Price was a little high. No AC. Was super hot in room on 6th floor. The lift starts on 2nd floor.

Location was amazing. In the middle of everything. Bus to and from airport around corner. Very cute and clean hotel with lots of character. Good breakfast.

Parking too small, but you can leave your car outside without any risk

Getting to the place is an amazing experience, you need to drive through towns where you can see how people lives there, getting to the place is super easy and very near to the beach, the view is amazing in the area. We loved the room, huge, lovely and comfort

The room was a bit outdated.

Location could not be better: right next to the main railroad station, close to the stop of the airport tram, and near to all the major sites. The breakfast was very good and had wide choice of hot and cold items.

The room was very small and hot. We had to ask for a fan at the front desk and the fan was so noisy it was hard to sleep. There was a round port hole type window that wouldn’t stay open and the alley below the room was extremely noisy all night long.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to everything. The desk staff were fabulous.

    N/A

Breakfast, more choice of cereal and more choice of continental ie: meat and bread. Also to be told that other egg choices were available as we didn't know until we saw somebody have their choice brought to their table

The building interior is very old, wifi is very very poor I could not connect

Location was excellent, room is small and wifi is very bad. We booked a room with window but the window is facing the building shaft. Pigeons were nesting there... there was a kettle and an iron board in the room which is fine. Breakfast was okay..

There are approximately 20 stair steps up from the street to reception and no elevator until after reception. The tub in the bathroom is very high and on a raised platform, making it very difficult for anyone but the young and athletic to climb in. Once in the tub figuring out the shower controls is a challenge, and there are no posted instructions. The mattress had seen better days.

The location was perfect and the room was bright and attractive. The staff was helpful and very pleasant.

Internet didn’t work well- lots of steps- don’t bring lots of luggage. Had afternoon tea here- it was OK but not as fancy as I’ve had it at other locations.

Amazing location across from Waverly train station. Cool old building- lovely bathroom and hotel room. Staff very helpful. Had an elevator but you had to up 23 steps first.

There are a lot of stairs. Our initial arrival with luggage was quite the climb. There were probably elevators available, which I may have missed seeing.

Loved the location. The room was comfortable and quiet. I was able to get one of the better nights sleep on our busy trip.

Very noisy. Not happy about their payments request: I am ok to pay upon arrival but they should then at least establish the invoice or a receipt which they were not able to issue until the check out (also not possible to do an early check out the night before when leaving early in the morning). They also charge a GBP 25 provision which they refund after check out.

Great location! Very central and just in front of the train station.

Great one night stay, convenient and spacious room

The entryway is not really very accessible as you have to go up a full flight of stairs with all of your luggage and all to get to reception (we saw a number of people struggling with it with no one to help). Overall great 3 star hotel (a little pricey (!80 pounds sterling taxes in) but that seems to be downtown Edinburgh these days.

I liked that it was across the street from Waverley station (arrival). in front of the tram to the airport, and a very short walk from the Royal Mile and downtown amedities. We had requested two single beds and got a spacious 3 bed room, which was nice with suitacases and all.
