Room was very nice, large, and overlooking the seafront. Location ideal for all ventures and for all people. Breakfast was good for buffet and as expected. Staff were very freindly, helpful and efficient.

Breakfast was expensive for what it is. There was what appeared to be a smelly 'druggie' outside causing lots of noise I did not get made aware of the facilities (fitness center) TV didnt work

The rooms were a little noisy, you could hear everything from the neighbours.

Staff were insanely amazing, even the guests were super nice. The hotel has a unique charm, near the beach and close to the centre as well as surrounded by restaurants.

The room was spacious and the bathroom had what you required bit old fashioned but did the job. Some places were little tired. Very friendly and helpfully staff. We only a bedroom no breakfast.

This Breakfast buffet could be better . For £17 , better quality , eggs , bacon and sausage. Also freash tomatoes, not tinned.

The location is great and the general friendliness of the staff always makes me go back . I stayed at the grand a little while ago and Grand , it wasn’t . I would always choose The Olx Ship from now on .

Property needed a little TLC. I understand it’s due for refurbishment.

Very creaky floorboards, on every step in hotel room, 153. Small bin had not been emptied, when getting key to room, not a problem, really. ..lift extremely tiny, and entrance turn style ridiculously small couldn’t get in with one bag, one small bag on wheels, n myself of course.. and I am only a 9stone person. ..a passing person gave me a helping hand.

Breakfast fine, sat at window seat, ..enjoyed the singer while having a drink in the bar, as weather was not good enough to be out in the front, which I was particularly looking forward too, very good position of hotel, Helpful to have been able to stop on ...taxi position to put things back into car boot.

The hotel is looking very tired now in places and could do with an update. I understand it is an old building,but you can still update old buildings. There was mould and damp above our window in the bedroom,looked like water damage.We did choose a cheaper room,but the conditions and expectations should be the same as if we had a deluxe on a higher floor! Around the air vent in the bathroom hadn't been finished off and the general feel of the room was basic and tired. Downstairs in the room where you sit for breakfast was nice,but they had covered up what looks like damp issues on the window walls with material? The windowsills were cracking and very dirty.

Have stayed at the hotel few times because the location is perfect and we have always found the staff to be very welcoming and pleasant. The room we stayed in was clean and had a sea view.

Couldn't get the shower to work

The rooms need some TLC. The pillows and duvets were poor quality.

Needs a bit of updating. Due to the age of the hotel, some things are a little slow i.e. lift hot water etc

Great location on the sea from. Easy access to concert venue, shopping and nightlife. Hotel a bit dated but suitable for an overnight stay

It was very noisy - there's a busy road in front of the hotel, and then there's all the people walking home from the clubs late at night etc. Not recommended if you're a light sleeper.

A mini fridge in the room would have been good. ... Also, breakfast was the same every day. It would have been good to have some variety. E.g. not eggs sunny side up every single day. Some days an omlette, hard boiled eggs, some vegetables, more of a choice.

All the nice and comfy places to sit and read or chat with friends with a great view to the seafront. The room was comfortable, furnished with taste and welcoming.
