At first this was going to be out go to hotel for future trips, it is amazing, but the walls to the rooms are paper thin, our neighbours got back at 2.30am and the walls were so thin we could hear every word of their conversation, which was just normal talking, it was like there was nothing between the rooms at all, were even kept awake by the snoring in the next room, that's how little soundproofing there was. Floorboards from above creaked a lot too. So hotel is fantastic and so were staff, just don't expect much sleep as there is 0 sound proofing in the rooms. Unfortunately we won't use again or recommend

Hotel location and grounds ate amazing, staff were fantastic and helpful too

The breakfast was very good. The rooms were a little shabby in appearance but clean and comfortable. The bar and reception area was very smart. The grounds surrounding the hotel were very impressive and a perfect place to take your dog. The hotel is very good value and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.

No shower in my room only a bath which felt like a waste of water every time I needed to use it. The bathroom also felt like it was half decorated / still under construction and the room I had had clearly had dogs / animals in it and wasn’t very clean.

    Good location and friendly staff.

Bath only with a shower head - ok for us but wouldn’t be easy for someone less mobile. Some areas needed better cleaning - black behind taps and carpet didn’t seem like it had been hoovered.

Great value for money. Lovely view from the room, comfy bed. Staff accommodating and the breakfast had a good selection (nice to freshly order hot choice and oat milk). Nice tea tray and biscuits in the room.

Breakfast from 7-9 seemed very early for a vacation. Would be perfect if it was until 10. Also the coffee machine wasnt turned on in the morning so I couldnt have a real coffee for breakfast. Only (I assume) instant which wasn’t very nice

Beautiful place, tasty breakfast, comfortable room and the shower was lovely.

Room was very small, but the bigest issue was bathroom, bad smell, mould, dirt, cobwebs with spiders, cracked sink. We left one night earlier, because we wanted to take a shower in a clean bathroom. There was nobody to talk with about it. I really dont mind old and dated hotels, but its doesnt have to mean dirt and mould, that l was able to clean with wet wipe.

Great location, we had two dogs with us so it was owsome that they could run free.

Only a couple of minor issues which we did feedback to staff who were appreciative . We would have preferred to have blackout curtains in the room. Plus the basin taps and the shower dial were stiff. This could present problems for guests with mobility issues.

The hotel itself is beautiful , set in stunning surroundings.

Lovely place, just needs a bit of love and attention is some areas.

The place is a little run down in areas and our room had a few minor issues. The toilet seat slid around a bit, the remote control for the tv did not work even after being supplied with new batteries. The design on the windows meant when fully opened, it knocked off the curtains. The place could do with being hoovered and dusted better. All of this to us was quite minor, so it would not deter us from returning.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The building is lovely and the surrounding gardens and views were fabulous. The evening meal was delicious and there was lots of good choice at breakfast, which again was very good. Our room had air conditioning which was great because it was very warm during our stay. The place was also very quite. There is plenty of parking. It is only a short walk through the church and over the bridge in to Crickhowel. We would be very happy to return.

Bed was not very comfortable and whoever had hoovered did not do the far side of the bed where there were large dust balls. My dog spread them around the room! Also there was a large puddle in the ensuite probably from the shower.

Lovely location and great for my dog as there is a large grassy area with orchard and large terrace with seating. Nice old building with rustic entrance hall and bar area. Had breakfast in the conservatory. Good choice of cooked breakfasts.

the evening meal quality needs to be better quality, more care in it's preparing, dry mash potatoes with bits of peel and what looked like a shop bought value pie and very little side veg only green beans and a sprig of very salty broccoli, veg is an easy to prepare win for any plate, and more choice.

Everything was as described and expected, value for money room with a very good breakfast, a nice quiet location with a superb walk along the canal and back through the most delightful quiet village, friendly staff.

The beds weren't clean upon arrival - think it was a blood stain on the sheets. The 'double' beds are just 2 singles pushed together and not locked so we were cautious of them coming apart

My room, room 10 probably wasn't their best room. It had the feel of something that was cobbled together at the last minute. Bit cramped, sockets inconveniently placed, shower head needed replacing, ironing board never had a proper cover. Bit tatty. Nothing serious. Maybe because I was a single male staying one night. Breakfast decent but portion size needs to increase 30%. Fruit was a bit limp and I had to ask for hotter coffee. From my perspective, the staff were eager to please. The devil is in the detail and although my constructive observations were minor, for a place of this stature the management need to up their game a bit. A beautiful place, I would return.

The country setting is second to none, quite beautiful. The building is welcoming and feels like a country manor. The young staff try hard to provide a good service.
