Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United KingdomThe three piece in the lounge/kitchen was not very comfortable. The shower was not very warm even after having the water heater on for nearly two hours!
The apartment was not the one we booked from the Booking.com site but after speaking to the host we sorted an alternative apartment which was what we required and the host was very helpful and hassle free

You could come and go as you liked,you weren't restricted to meal times apartment had everything that we needed. 10 minutes walk to all amenities, has a lift so no carrying suitcases up stairs, great view of tower from our room.Overall great place if you don't want hassle of getting up early like in a hotel.

Myself, husband, parents and two children comfortably stayed in the apartment. We were on the top floor, lift was handy for luggage. The owner offered to help, which was nice and showed us around the apartment, Very friendly. I was really surprised with how clean the apartment was. The owners obviously take cleaning seriously. The beds were extremely comfortable sheets immaculate. The apartment had all the necessities in the kitchen and also provided shower gel and shampoo which was a nice suprise. The electric is a top up meter a £1 a time, we didn't need to pay anything during out stay. The apartment is only a short walk to the backpoool tower, great location 👍. We would definitely visit again, all round great place to stay. Owners were very friendly 🙂 bonus free parking and view of the blackpool tower from the lounge and bedroom. Thanks very much.

United KingdomThe wooden floors, along with the high ceilings, made the living room really echo. A rug would have been good to help dull the noise. However, I'm not sure what good this would have done for the apartments above ours; unfortunately, you could hear every footstep, conversation, slammed door etc.
It was a really brilliant self-catering apartment, well stocked with all the little extra bits, plenty of storage & sockets. Steve was always available to answer questions or to assist & my children liked the small selection of games on the ground floor. A quiet location with plenty of parking.
