Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing to complain about, but perhaps some night lights in the corridor, for midnight trips to the bathroom, as the bathroom was not on-suite.
The location and quiet setting of this wonderful house was just what we were looking for. We were made to feel very welcome and felt quite at home. The Breakfast was excellent, couldn't ask for more.

AustraliaThe location was very peaceful and the house beautiful with friendly and attentive hosts. The weather was very cool in mid July and they kindly lit a fire in the entrance reception which was very thoughtful and welcoming. All in all a very pleasant stay. Excellent breakfasts too.

United StatesWiFi on the 2nd floor is spotty but due to the home’s construction, it really can’t be helped. It’s a great time to power down IMO!
The history of the home is amazing and learning about it from the owners, Rupert & Karinne, was so very interesting. They go above and beyond to make a person feel comfortable, and their hospitality is heartwarming. They helped us know the best places to go, and their Irish breakfast and French-press coffee were awesome!

GermanyStaying at O'Harabrook exceeded my expectations. It's a journey back in time to the splendor of past centuries. The rooms are very spacious, and the furnishings are partially original, while the bathrooms are updated to modern standards. The historical atmosphere makes this accommodation truly special. We were warmly welcomed and spoiled with a fabulous breakfast. Due to the secluded location on the large estate, it is very quiet, and we slept excellently. Rupert was happy to show us around the property, and the historic family cemetery in the nearby woods was also very worth seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again anytime.

United KingdomIt was a bit difficult to find and rather isolated.
The estate house is quite grand with a faded opulence from a bygone era. Original features still remain in the sitting and dining rooms but the en-suite facilities are much newer and some are state-of-the-art. It retains the friendly feel of a family home.

United StatesSpiders. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to keep up with a home that large, and I know a country house is bound to have bugs and spiders.
Our hosts were friendly and fun to chat with! Their recommendations were spot on. (Know that local takeaway shops only take cash.) They were understanding when we got back late after exploring the coast until dark. Breakfast was a yummy and solid start to our days exploring. I loved their home's period decorations, unique architecture, and their beautiful land surrounding it.

GermanyWe had a great stay at this 18th century country house which is located in a very quiet setting. We found it very interesting to stay in an old house with this much history. The hosts Rupert and Karine were extraordinary and gave lots of insight into the history of the house and the family. We very much enjoyed our conversations with them. The room was equipped with period furniture but had a new modern bathroom. The Irish breakfast was excellent and prepared to your liking. The location is perfect for trips to nearby attractions like Giants causeway and Carrick-a-Rede.

I stayed at O'Harabrook House for my birthday. I had no difficulty in finding my way there. The house retains all its 18th. Century charm. My room was warm, comfortable and breakfast was great. Every tourist attraction is within a short drive and Rupert and Karine are extremely attentive hosts. I can thoroughly recommend this place to anyone wanting peace and quiet in a beautiful and secluded rural setting.

United KingdomThe front door was a bit difficult to open when locked. The property is a bit difficult to find and at the end of a long driveway.
The breakfast was delicious and the host affable and entertaining. The house inside was like a National Trust property with charming period furniture but also very modern shower and bathroom. The other residents were also delightful.

The location was exactly where we needed it to be, also close for visits to the causeway coast and other local attractions. The setting in the middle of the countryside and the tranquility of the location made it very enjoyable. The dog (dash) and the cat were the stars of the show. Rupert and Karine were great hosts who are very friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed our conversations.
