Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI visited this hotel around 14 years ago for a function and it was lovely. Sadly now a shadow of former self and badly in need of renovation inside and out. The room was round the back in what looks like a 60/70’s built extension looking very dated. The room was clean and spacious but in badly in need of updating, painting and decorating with peeling wallpaper, ancient furniture and grubby curtains. The tv did not work but the chap on reception came and fixed it so no problem. Microwave in room had been used but not cleaned. The room smelt strongly of cooking and was not serviced during our stay. There used to be a lovely bar, restaurant and lounge area but this is now all closed up. All quite sad really as this place has the potential to be a great place to stay. We normally stay at the premier inn in Altrincham but it was fully booked on our chosen dates so this was a last minute choice. We would only consider coming back here if it had a complete renovation.
Spacious functional room, quiet hotel, plenty of parking. Bedding was clean and water in bathroom very hot. Microwave and fridge in room. Great location for visiting family in Altrincham. Helpful member of staff on reception. Good price and ok if you are looking for a budget hotel.

United KingdomI was at the back of the main building in a different block. Place looked a little tired & needed freshening up, deep clean for carpets required, signs needed to direct you to room numbers. Although this was not a high-end hotel & not finished to a high standard, it was adequate and comfortable for a few days stay.
I arrived at night & the hotel sign was large & lit up, so I could easily see the entrance. Check-in was quick. The room was clean with free super fast internet, TV, fridge & microwave. Bed was very comfortable. Lidl & Tesco was nearby, so was great for buying a few things & topping up petrol for my car. Great location to travel & see places. Also, it was lovely to wake up to the beautiful sounds of birds, and the garden view was very nice.

United KingdomThe man who greeted me didn't say much...smiled and have me the key card, told me door code and that was it... didn't feel particularly welcomed The whole place, both inside and out needs painting and smartening up. Visually round the back it looks quite dilapidated...paint peeling off, curtains in one room hanging off, things that needed repair, grubby walls in my room. It would then look more welcoming.
Everything really clean...bedding, carpet, surfaces, bathroom, towels etc Bed really comfortable...quite firm. Choice of different size/firmness pillows Had microwave and mini bar type fridge. Iron and ironing board Good tea/coffee making facilities I asked for a quiet room and it was

United KingdomPlease see previous comments.
The hotel was convenient however, it needs significant renovation inside and out. To say it looked really tired would be an understatement. We stayed for 5 nights for work and our room wasn't cleaned once. There was a visible hole in the roof with slates missing (not near our room). The carpets are well worn and the decor & furniture are dated.. All that said the guy on reception was friendly as one other member of staff we met.

United KingdomSadly this hotel has deteriorated and. looked very un inviting Im sorry to say. Gardens unkempt, bin in the front garden was overflowing arrival and still the same three days later. The features shown on Booking.com and on the hotel web site show a beautiful, well stocked lounge bar. This had clearly remained closed and unused for some considerable time. We therefore had to avail ourselves of another venue just a short walk down the road.
Staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Ours was a large group attending a funeral and many didn't pre order breakfast, but no one was left wanting.

United KingdomI think the normal double rooms are quite small, fine for one night but I would suggest the superior doubles are much better for multiple night stays, they are also a lot quieter Some of the rooms could do with more plug sockets in general/plug sockets closer to the bed ideally It can be very warm, especially in the corridors as the big radiators always seem to be on
Staff are very friendly and helpful Although the decor is a little dated, everything seemed clean and tidy Good location, lots of shops and places for food nearby Plenty of parking, car park can be a little tight but it’s fine Building is interesting, some of the windows have a stained glass type design etc
