The Norfolk Arms has recently been renovated so the rooms are new, clean and modern. The staff make the place; super friendly and go out of their way to help you. The food (pub) is very good and tasty, breakfast was superb. Easy to get to from the train and close to the town centre. Great for a nice break.

The lady that checked us in told us we could come down for breakfast in the morning, but the pub wasn't even open so we couldn't get breakfast. Also, we weren't told how to get out of the pub if we were leaving before they opened. Luckily there was a very nice lady and her husband who were also staying there who showed us and told us that if we came back when the pub was closed, she showed us how to get back in.

The only issue was a poorly flushing toilet. Hardly a deal breaker though.

The central location is great and despite this our room was quiet. It is spacious, wonderfully clean and comfortable. The staff were refreshingly friendly.

The wardrobe sadly only had 2 coat hangers, could of done with a few more, Television only had a limited amount of channels to watch Music from the pub downstairs could faintly be heard until midnight, however what we did hear we enjoyed listening too Check out time was 10.00 am, however for an extra £15, you could extend that to midday (of which we did) but I do feel that check outs should be to at least 11.00 and no extra fees to pay....but overall a lovely stay

Cooked breakfast is after 10:00, so we had a continental at 08:30. We knew about this as we have stayed there before, usually 3 times per year.

The staff are lovely. The stairs are manageable by my wife (88).

I don't dislike anything but don't expect total peace and quiet due to location and being above a busy pub.

The staff are so welcoming and you feel safe being on your own. You can come and go easily but also feel comfortable in the pub as everyone is so friendly. The rooms are so clean and have everything you need. I really enjoy the breakfast in the pub and the fact I park outside. Great for use of the station.

Overall a really nice if unexceptional stay (on account of our very short visit - we arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning). Staff members were very friendly, room was tidy and comfortable, and the location was good with restaurants and a taxi stand close by.

There was live music one night, which we could hear from our room, but it finished just after midnight so not too bad.

Lovely comfortable and spacious room, and the staff, especially the lady who checked us in (Kerry I think her name is), so welcoming and friendly. We had stayed at the Norfolk Arms before and choose to stay again as it was so lovely.

We had Sunday dinner which we were very impressed with apart from the Turkey. This was an additional £2.75 per person. The portion of this meat was small and quite dry to eat. The beef on the other hand was lovely.

Staff very friendly, food very good I would say big improvement on usual pub food. Decoration gave modern feel, could do with touching up in places in our room. Very impressed with the Traditional breakfast. Nice touch in the ladies providing complimentary sanitary items and hairspray.

Parking was a problem, had to park several streets away, which is difficult when carrying holdalls, bags etc.. We chose not to have breakfast as not available until 10.am.

Location was great as close to visiting family and friends.Room was comfortable and hospitality tray was welcoming.

The ONLY thing I didn't like was the noise from the music in the bar when it was after 11 and still going. It was worse on the Sat than the Sunday.

The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpfull throughout my stay. The housekeeping was to a really high standard throughout. My room was large and well serviced with good heating you can control.Bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have had in hotels. The scrambled agg I had was the best I have had in a hotel and a great price. It was really easy to come and go as you needed especially leaving early in the morning. No problem parking. Great area close to the station perfect for the football. I will stay again.

Loud Karaoke on Friday and Saturday evening until mid night. No warning of this at booking. But otherwise a good stay.

Breakfast was excellent, although an additional cost to the room rate. Food whether at breakfast or dinner was excellent. Fabulous pizza made in front of you, is worth your consideration.
