Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe room was quite cold and humid, the heating was on only 1h in the evening, considering a very rainy weekend in February in Scotland. Also, we couldn't use the kettle to make teas to warm up, as the bottom was burnt with milk (!!). Please fellow readers, do not heat up milk for your porridge in the kettle!!

United KingdomWe weren't offered breakfast, which we were informed of prior to the stay, at least, but would have appreciated a cost reduction, as it was in the description of the property when booking. The location of our room (#4, downstairs) was a bit wonky, with low ceilings (especially at the door - watch your head!) and an awkward drop-off from the beds. The shower in the shared bathroom was barely functional - low pressure and wouldn't maintain pressure. I suppose it more or less met expectations, but maybe priced 10-15% too high for what it is, even factoring in the location. Still, it did the job for us.
The room was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped, with a couch/chairs, as well as coffee/tea/kettle. The beds were adequate, and everything seemed clean. Its a great location, a five minute walk from the train station and high street.

United KingdomMattress on bed was extremely uncomfortable (room no.1). Could feel the springs through it. No choice of dairy or dairy free butter at breakfast. With the amount of vegans and people who are lactose intolerant, non dairy milk/ceamersr and butter are really a must. Dry toast is no fun! Fortunately I'd brought my non dairy milk powder to make up milk for cereal and coffee
Location was fantastic. Walking distance to everything you could need. A big plus was the view of the loch and free parking. Room (no.1) was spacious. Ensuite shower worked well. Hairdryer was an unexpected bonus. Full english breakfast was good (although vegan option was just no bacon, sausage or egg). You could help yourself to cereal, toast etc at any time of day. Good maps and guide books available. Only downside was mattress could do with changing. Could feel the springs
