Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really. There was a bit of road and rail noise, but not too bad. The room was cold when we arrived, but soon warmed up once heating was put on.
Handy location. Excellent price. Friendly staff, nice meals available in the pleasant pub onsite and handy for the towpath on the other side of the canal to have a walk alongside the narrow boats. The room was clean and tidy with parking immediately outside so really accessible and the bed, immaculately clean and super comfortable.

Cute little room that's well equipped and very comfy beds. Clean and decent parking. Staff were very helpful and well located to be able to get to shops and restaurants nearby.

United KingdomThe room was OK. Once I closed the blind I couldn't open it again, curtains would be better. There was a gap in the front door, it felt flimsy so I didn't feel that safe and secure. A bit pricey for the room. The kettle and shower head could do with descaling. There was no breakfast offered but I knew this when I booked. The menu in the pub was basic and not much choice. I didn't stay for food because of this.
It was in a beautiful location. I met 2 members of staff and they were both lovely and friendly.

United KingdomThe only things that let the accommodation down were some of the facilities. We noticed that one of the door bolt's was missing which meant the room let in wind draught and noise from outside. The bathroom looked new but the shower skirting was broken and the heated towel rail only reached lukewarm temperature at best. As a couple we didn't mind sharing a single hand towel but we did expect a hand towel each. When we turned over the coffee mugs, one of the cups still had wet coffee in it so we had to re-wash it. The pillows were a bit softer than we would have liked but there was no alternative options. The back of the TV remote fell apart and couldn't be used to switch the TV on or off so we had to do this manually. The window view was unfortunately just a brick wall which felt a shame as we were so near the canal.
Great staff and service. Julian phoned us before we arrived to ask if we would like any food prepared for our arrival before the kitchen closed at 9pm, which was a very kind and thoughtful offer. Check in was easy and we had a lovely ensuite room away from the pub with enough space for a 2 night stay. Tea and coffee was available in the room, as well as water in glass bottles. An iron and ironing board was available upon request which was fantastic as we had a wedding to attend. The bed linen was pristinely clean with comfortable firmness. Room lighting was plenty and the desk chair and mirror near the window made getting ready a doddle. WiFi connection was available and very good.

United KingdomExterior decoration of the bedrooms is looking a bit tired but this does not affect their comfort.
Friendly staff and manager. Quiet location with 'motel' style rooms away from the pub. Good power shower in the en-suite. No breakfast facility on site but the manager recommended Granny's Cafe in Weedon, where they do a great choice of full English breakfast. It gets busy so best to book if you like to start the day with hot food.

CanadaBathroom ensuite needs an overhaul. Although clean, the floor tiles were cracked and rocking on the floor, could cut feet in chipped tiles. The grout on tiles looked rusty. Shower stall nice size, but needs to have rust stains removed and tile work fixed. Bed was creaky and lumpy but clean.
Location beside canal is excellent. Restaurant and pub is lovely. Accommodation suited our needs. Fairly quiet, clean with coffee tea, biscuits and bottled water in room. Ensuite bathroom.

United KingdomThe only downer on the trip was the cleanliness of the shower/toilet area. Could do with a deep clean. Perhaps some new lamp bulbs would also help. Wasn't aware of the no breakfast situation.
The location was great for our trip. The staff were welcoming and the evening meal was very good. Access to the canal towpath for anpre-dinner walk was good. I have travelled past this location many times and didn't realise they did rooms. Will stay again.

United KingdomA5 very busy and noisy, likewise quite close to a railway line which was quite busy, however didn't notice it during the night so they didn't disturb my sleep. Bathroom looking a little tired but shower had plenty of hot water and powerful jet.
Very comfy room, at the back of the pub carpark in a couple of little single storey blocks. Right next to the Grand Union Canal. Everything you might need in the room with a very comfy bed. Close to Silverstone.

United KingdomNo breakfast options, but was given recommendations. Granny's cafe did a lovely breakfast near by. We stayed in The Helm, it was comfortable but I was disappointed in the bathroom to find the grout between the tiles on the floor had been removed and patched up in other places, the whole floor needed work. Was uneven to walk on.Also holes in wall tiles where something had been removed, Also the front door didn't shut properly at the bottom and I was worried it would be drafty. I felt abit let down as the acomadation was a surprise for my partner until we got there. (By the canal) Also the bedside tables were dusty and there was spiders roaming around over the bed. Maybe we were first people to stay in that room this year? I feel I would have complained if I'd paid more money but thought I paid a fair price for the Bank Holiday and we heard in the bar that all rooms were booked out. So we wouldn't have been able to be moved. We would stay again if passing again, but needs a few jobs doing around.
We liked the location, great for a walk along the canal. Free parking, staff were friendly.
