Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking can be a challenge since street parking is only available after 6 pm. I was unable to use the pay lot around the corner because the pay app is only available to UK residents with a local phone number.
Close to downtown easy arrival experience.

United StatesTrouble with heaters - the building was quite cold and heaters wouldn’t turn on. No one onsite to assist. Spent a considerable amount of time messaging with host who was very attentive but not very knowledgeable about the premises.
Beautiful old building in convenient location - easy walk to sights, restaurants and shops.

United KingdomThe town in general is a bit of a nightmare for parking, but no fault of the hotel.
The house was in a great location. It was well kept, comfortable and everything about checking in and out was made easy.

United KingdomThe lack of parking is the only set back for me but I was able to.park overnight in the cathedral car park which 5 minutes walk away so it wasn't a huge problem.
My room was clean as was the ensuite shower. Although it was small it provided all.i needed. The kitchen and lounge were a good size and overall I spent a very comfortable 3 nights here.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable, I could feel all the individual springs. Also the key lock code had already been inputted which defeats the purpose of a code.
It was very clean, and the location was perfect, as it was close to the center but also in a quiet area.

AustraliaRoom and bathroom were very small but nicely appointed and clean. The sash window was very hard to open. A folding suitcase stand at the end of the bed would have been handy. Stairs ... I know, I know - they are inevitable and it was only one flight!
Kitchen facilities, dining/lounge area, well stocked room with nice shampoo and soap. Able to come and go freely with supplied front door key. Great location, easy walk from bus station, very near the walking bridge across the river. Tescos round the corner, couple of takeaway places nearby, lovely restaurants a block away along the riverfront.

United KingdomThere was a continuous noise in the room that sounded like a generator going off in the background and it’s advisable to bring your own earplugs along with ear defenders if you really want a good nights sleep.
The property was very central and had catch up tv was very nice to have in the room.

SingaporeVery tiny room. Carpet felt really gross, water pressure was horrific and the clincher - the bed felt like it deserves to be in a dump. It was lumpy and so soft that you're better off sleeping on the floor. Oh, except the carpet is so disgusting that you'll end up with rashes all over.
Nothing.

The closeness to town helped - this was the first 'mySTAYINN' I'd ever stayed in(!), so found everything a wee bit ominous as in would codes work etc but was very glad to discover that things went fine! Altho' room + bathroom were small, bed was comfy, ensuite was fine too. Having stayed in another couple of like-accomodation in Inverness over month of May, this was by far the cleanest (spotless!), and certainly most welcoming even without staff! This house had nice aura about it, too.

BelgiumThe kitchen was equiped with a washing machine, cooker with oven and a microwave, but a few more pots and pans would have been handy.
I stayed for 3 nights in a one person bedroom with private bathroom. The room was rather small, but spatious enough for one and was very clean. Downstairs there was a kitchen and living room that could be used, so you are not confined to your own room and it is cost-saving that you can prepare your own food. Just two streets away there is a big supermarket. An excellent choice for the budget savvy traveller! And bonus points since you get the feel of a real house!

CanadaThere was construction downstairs that was loud in the building so I couldn't work. The mattress on the bed was horrendous and had springs that jabbed into your back when you laid on it. When I lifted the sheets up to look, it was an old mattress that is completely unacceptable. There was no internet in my room and I have to work with clients online. When I contacted the staff about this they said the internet was fine and denied my concern. I sent them a photo of the bars of the internet which was not even one bar. When I asked if they could bring me a comforter to put over the bed for more cushion they said no one could come to the guest house. They also would not switch my room. I had to leave and go to a new hotel as there was no way I could sleep on the bed or see my clients. I lost my money for the night and another man at the new hotel I was staying at also left and could not stay there. I have been traveling for months across Europe and I have never had an issue or made a complaint anywhere. I paid $130 dollars a night for this place and it was awful.

GermanyExtreme noise from the downstairs boiler made this place intolerable. No staff at the place. Phone contact was not helpful and did not call back on all three occqsions. Later I found out that they knew there was an issue. Someone mentioned it in their review only a couple of weeks earlier. Only through the intervention of booking com I was reocated. Initially for one night only - they would have made me go back even thpugh the issue had not been solved, and another intervention of booking com was necessary. All in all a very stressful experience that cost me a day of my vacation.. I cannot recommend "StayInn" at all.
