The fact we couldn't stay another few nights but we had to travel back home !!

House was beautifully appointed. 5+ stars for everything. Bed was so comfy, All the linen, bath towels and robes were luxurious. The menu for breakfast was fabulous and we were so well looked after.

Beautiful house. Location on Grantown on Spey is great for exploring the Cairngorms. Karen, the host, is very welcoming and her breakfasts are wonderful. Room was spacious and the bed was very comfy.

We didn’t get to experience the breakfast, but it smelled wonderful. One needs to be physically capable of climbing the 41 stairs to top floor if booking the self catering flat.

Hosts Karen and Alick were very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the area and Scotland in general. The self catering apartment on the top floor (41 steps in the stairs) had everything we needed and more, and our hosts kindly supplied bread, milk and eggs to get us started. The house has been impeccably restored to its former glory and is welcoming as a home away from home. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a luxury stay in Grantown and I would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay at Mount Barker - a comfortable home base to allow us to explore Lochness and do walks in the Cairngorms. Karen and her guests made for enjoyable conversations over breakfast and when arriving back in the evening.

There was nothing my wife and I didn’t like about here,I would certainly recommend you give Mount Barker a visit.

The location was ideal,just a short walk to the high street of Grantown-On-Spey,with lots of Interesting places to drive to nearby. The breakfast was really tasty,and the table had everything you would like on it and more. Our hosts Karen and Alex were great,Karen’s attention to her guests is outstanding, our room and large bathroom had everything we needed,and was really beautifully furnished.

Lovely property in a great central location for visiting the whisky trail and local walks. Accommodation was very clean with a lovely personal touch. The extra provisions, bread, eggs, etc were also very welcome

The only thing that interfered in complete happiness was a highly scented jar of incense sticks - once I located it the hosts spirited it away.

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bathroom itself was fabulous, with a tub and lovely shower. The hosts welcomed us, provided a sitting room downstairs where a terrific and beautiful breakfast was served, and recommendations for food and activities. One of us was not feeling well one day and we had a quiet day in our room which was lovely to cozy up in.

Everything. Welcoming hosts, spacious rooms with lovely furnishings. A beautiful house close to central Grantown, a short drive away from many things to see in the Cairngorms and Speyside. Apartment had all the necessary essentials plus quite a few extra features which made it a pleasure to stay there.

Beautiful house and decor. We stayed in a large room with 4 poster bed and large en suite with free standing bath in it . The bath was fantastic after a long day hill walking. Karen was an excellent host and cook ( breakfast was perfect!). She arranged a booking for us for dinner . Bath robes and slippers to wear inside the house provided and also a guest sitting room with a log burner .

Beautifully restored Victorian mansion. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and other facilities in this lovely small town. Probably the best to order breakfast we have had at a bed and breakfast. Huge ensuite bedroom and very comfortable v huge bed!

Perfect location to explore the Speyside area. Our room was simply amazing, big, comfortable and with an amazing bathroom, which had both a shower and a bathtub. The entire place has a lovely fancy countryside touch. The breakfast is delicious. The host is also lovely. We had great chats in the mornings and she also gave us great reccomendations on what to do around the area. Highly recommend!

Wi-Fi doesn’t work v well prob due to rural area/location
