Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe Restaurant was closed at the time of the Covid epidemic and has not reopened, which is a real shame. Presumably the economic situation has precluded the restoration of complete hotel facilites, whch has led to the site having a somewhat downbeat feel. This was amplified by our visit to the nearest hostelry "The Poachers" (a 5minute walk) which had suffered a staff walkout some days before and was being run by an emergency toubleshooting team headed by a very competent standby Manger.-an interesting experience.
The rooms are well appointed and a bonus, for us, was the extra space afforded by the upstairs/downstairs aspect of the accomodation. The bedroom areas were on a mezzanine above the sitting/living area, off which was the bathroom. This was somewhat unusual and might present a problem for less able bodied guests (you had to go downstairs to use the toilet during the night) but was fine for us. We were a party of seven people and occupied three rooms.

BelgiumRoad noise in odd numbered rooms. Had to fill kettle from the bath tap because kettle doesn`t fit under tap in basin.

United KingdomThe bedroom was on two levels, with the bed on a mezzanine floor. Unfortunately, the sloping ceiling had a window with no blind. Consequently, it wasn’t possible to sleep in a dark room. It’s May and it’s light from 5.00am. One of the light switches was faulty. I really wanted a continental breakfast rather than a cooked breakfast, but the choices for a continental breakfast were disappointing.
Size of the bedroom. Comfortable bed. Cleanliness. The staff.

United KingdomThe hotel was very quiet when we stayed and we felt we could have been allocated a quieter room than the one we had, next to a relatively busy road. The traffic noise was not really bad so didn't complain/ask to be moved. If we were to stay again we would request a quieter side of the hotel. Disappointing that the pub adjoining the hotel is not in use at present (maybe permanently?) and as a result, eating breakfast in a vast room was a little lacking in atmosphere. The staff suggested the nearby Poacher's Inn for evening meal and it was very good, and a very easy and quick walk from the hotel, also a large car park if weather bad.
Lovely spacious room and brilliant, powerful shower. Very helpful staff and perfect location for one-night stop a trip from South Wales to Manchester.

United KingdomAll very good but just be prepared that it is an older hotel and very quiet when we were there. This didn’t bother us but may bother others.
Quiet old hotel which you get for what you pay for. Plenty of space in the rooms, staff very good. A few things to do around the hotel as well. Note that the restaurant is permanently closed so you have to go out to eat which is fine as there is plenty of places a short distance away. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice. Good facilities in the room for tea and coffee etc. Bed very comfortable.
