Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere is no wifi ! The ad is not lying, they really say there is no wifi available, but I'd never expect a flat/hotel in Londin that there is no internet. The kithcen is well-equiped, but it misses a frying-pan to fry eggs in for breakfast (usually all flats in Londin have one available).
The location is very good, the size of the flat is also good.

AustraliaThe unfinished repairs around a window, leaving exposed expansion foam. Unfinished repair to skirting board. Bathroom plug broken. There is no manual on what or how to switch the switch . No internet availability. No smart tv. Remote batteries flat and faulty (replaced while there). Shower rose jets blocked . Mixer tap boiling hot to touch when in use. No chopping board. Blunt knives. Constant moving of furniture from other buildings/apartments at all hours of the night. No toilet paper . No tea towel. Vacum cleaner broken held together with tape. Filter unclean and blocked with dust and dirt.
Loved the location and lay out of the apartment

NetherlandsThere was no WIFI and since I was traveling for work, that could have been useful instead of using my personal data plan. Also, there was only 1 toilet paper roll and 1 paper towel roll which usually doesn't happen in hotels.
Location was great, apartment had all the amenities as listed in their description.

United KingdomWell, the booking process is convoluted and excessively regimented. Photo ID of every guest (even if you're not sure if you'll be joined or not). Then a very high security deposit (£350 for one night!). I was dubious if there was ever going to be a property. Then when I arrived no wifi and the interior window had no glass in one panel so the property was cold and noisy.
The location was excellent and the apartment was well equipped.

BelgiumThe day before and the day of arrival, i received 3 emails with mandatory things to complete in order to get access to the room. This was VERY stressful, especially when i didn't always have access to wifi / internet while traveling. In every email they said you could NOT bring guests or visitors, if you would get caught, they would deduct money from your deposit and kick you out. I did not like this at all. If I would have known that it was forbidden to bring visitors, I would have chosen a different apartment. This information was not on the website when i booked the stay.
Really clean and fantastic location! The access to the apartment was very well organized, no problems with the keys or locks. Good communication.

United KingdomThe check in process was a nightmare! We booked at 7pm for that night and due to delays with emails confirming check in procedure, did not receive the code until 9pm. Emails only sent following two calls to customer service to chase. Shame as otherwise my feedback would be 9/10

United Kingdomit was fairly difficult to find because of the way monument street is laid out. when I called the management team they could only give me minimal instructions and could not guide me as ‘they had never been’. also £250 security deposit is a lot and 7 business days to return it is too long. The check in procedures and timelines are also overly complicated and stressful.
the apartment was very conveniently located 5 minutes from the Tower of London and 2 minutes from Monument tube. It was fairly clean with only a few long hairs in the bathroom. it was also fairly modern and had everything you needed for a nights stay in London.

AustraliaMostly minor things; One window didn't close properly (we stayed in winter). Staff were just automated responses - the check in procedure is weird and awkward when you can't get emails on a flight. Lacked consumables like washing powder, one roll of toilet paper, etc. - Expect to go shopping when you arrive. Aluminium fry pan doesn't work on induction cooktop.
Perfect location, large clean apartment, good heating, two toilets, quiet building, good Indian restaurant next door.

United KingdomProperty has a few damaged elements although that didn't really detract from the stay. Biggest frustration was the poor check-in process and trying to get the deposit back. Emails went unanswered (except one) and the check in process depends on you being online when demanded by the owners. You can't check in until you have paid a deposit and we only received details of this at 1130 on the day of check in, when we had booked in October! We then spent an hour chasing the bank at 3pm to hurry up and release funds so we could check in - so that wasted time that we could have used enjoying London and the property could have had the funds earlier had it asked for them. So, the property is good, the check in process and customer service poor.
Good location, nice property with much more space than a hotel room.

United KingdomThere was no Wifi and there were no working table/standard lamps - all of them had bulbs that didn't work and there were no replacement bulbs (even on request). There is a lot of ambient noise being so close to the main road so don't think that it's a very quiet stay! Oh and there was no pair of scissors! I tiny point... :-)

SwitzerlandThe shower is really small. Lots of light bulbs weren't working and the lightning system had some issues. There was just one key, even being mentioned it was for 2 the apartment.
The location is perfect, right in the center of the city and super easy access to subway. The apartment has a great structure to daily life, unfortunately we didn't have time to use the kitchen, but it's very well structured. The check-in is very simple and organized.

United KingdomI was shocked with the large refundable deposit that I had to pay via bank transfer (£500) which I got emailed about after booking the apartment. I think it should be made a bit clearer when booking, rather than in the small print because if you don't have available funds to pay it, you could lose the booking altogether and the fee for the stay. I did receive the deposit back within a couple of days after check out. There were 2 milk sachets in the fridge and some sugar, but a couple of tea bags would have been nice to go with it.
The location was very central for my destination, it is just a couple of minutes walk from Monument Station. It was clean and comfortable and it has a lovely view of the Shard.

AustraliaThe apartment needs some repairs. The blinds in the main living area are broken, the sliding back door doesn’t lock properly, there was a drainage issue in the ensuite bathroom, some of the air vents need repairs, there were lots of light bulbs that needed replacing, the bath towels are small and we were not even provided with a T-towel.
We loved the location and the amount of space the apartment offered us as a family of 4.
