Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSad to say that it needs a lot of tweaks here there and everywhere. The building has always been bright white from the outside and it now looks yellowish and in need of some rendering in places. There are parts of the interior that look like they have been repaired but not to a good standard or just need to be repaired. Small things like not having salt pots on the table filled (on any surrounding table either) or not knowing anything about the beers being served, Sunday breakfast buffet not having plates or saucers out, coffee not topped up. Things like this, and I know it’s nit picking but to make this hotel the amazing experience it deserves to be, means being on top of the little things. Air conditioning or fans in the room when it’s sunny is really needed. It was hot in there. Also curtains that fully block out the sun in the rooms would be so much better. The room we stayed in, the curtains could have done to be an inch longer. All feedback for the benefit of the hotel to enable to fix and make it perfect in future.
The location on the promenade was great. The view from the restaurant superb. There are so many great features in this historic and unique hotel that just won’t be replicated anywhere else. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Despite what I mention in the things I don’t like, I really enjoyed the stay. The sunsets in the evening and watching the people enjoying the promenade during the day was something really special and at times I felt like I was abroad I was so relaxed.

United KingdomThe new owner is "a pubs with rooms" group. The great Midland Hotel doesn't seem to fit well with their property portfolio. They seem to think it is quite ok to expect their high class guests to get up from their seaview tables in the restaurant, and go to the bar to order their meals, as if they were in a very average pub. It is far from ok! A complaint to the group's CEO did not receive the courtesy of a reply.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at the Midland Hotel, Morecambe. The only thing we could say is that the food didn't quite come up to the standard of luxury set by the rest of the hotel. It was good but missing an edge that you might expect.
We loved the quirkiness of the Art Deco hotel room and the views across the bay were amazing especially as we got a sunset the night we stayed. The staff were friendly and helpful and willing to go above and beyond for us. Thank you 😊

United KingdomBathroom entrance was a bit of a squeeze and we are both petite! The outside of the building is looking a little tired.
We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was very nice and good value for the money paid. The room was well furnished with lots of storage.

United KingdomAs we expected, the meals and drinks were a little overpriced.
The room was excellent and big enough to relax in. The sea view was excellent and the balcony was OK. The bathroom was interesting with the modern pacing of the toilet and we really liked how everything was folded behind display units.

United Kingdom1.Attempts to modernise not thought through.eg. removal of Reception desk. Combining customer services of reception with the bar area is inappropriate and a poor working environment for staff. 2.Absence of any indication of dog friendly areas in the public spaces eg sun terrace restaurant. 3.” Dumbing down” in the restaurant eg. self service ordering menu choices, poor quality paper serviettes. 4.A definite decline in standards since our previous vidit.
Preservation of Art Deco features. Location A special mention for the chef, meals were excellent. The waiting staff are well trained, maybe for working in the more formal setting of previous times.

The food was delicious, well presented, staff friendly and helpful. The rotunda bar was different, murals on the walls, plenty of drinks and food to choose from. The views from both the bar and restaurant are fantastic.

United KingdomThe weather could have been better during our short stay but none of us have any control of that.
The room was very well appointed with excellent ideas of separating shower/toilet etc from the sleeping area. Thought the choice of breakfast more than adequate. Similarly with dinner plenty of choice, well presented by courteous staff.

United KingdomToo many fish options and most meals came with chips. Could do with a more varied menu. Also lighter bites could be served later too as didn't always want a main meal in the evening. I had the yellow Thai curry which was very bland and tasteless, also heard people on other tables complain about different foods. Very overpriced menu.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had everything you needed, lots of space, cupboards and bed very comfy. Beautiful views from the outside seating area.
