Shared bathroom - ran out of toilet tissue. Had to go to find a cleaning cart to get a replacement (or find another bathroom). This is preventable…. With a shared bathroom use is going to by high. Should have dispensers which hold two rolls. Failing that, when checking amount remaining on daily clean, leave an extra roll ahead of it running out when low, not wait until run out. I took a part used roll from cart - next day it had not been fitted in the housing, and later had run out - again…….

Shower temperature was erratic, cycling from scalding hot to freezing cold rather than staying at a constant temperature.

As it's an old building, the floors and corridors are quite noisy when other guests are walking around at night.

Great location near town centre. Friendly welcome. Really nice breakfast. Good choice at reasonable cost for anyone visiting the university outside term time.

Shower rooms seemed mostly labelled as for males only - need to wait and be quick in the mornings to get a shower! Once in, the shower was great though.

Lovely old building and rooms right in the centre of St Andrews. Room was really sunny and had a wonderful view of the beach! Breakfast was superb, nicely presented and all the staff also lovely.

The bathroom situation was a bit frustrating at times. There was only one main shower room and bathroom per floor. It wasn't until the second night of the stay that staff put up a sign directing to people to alternatives for those not comfortable sharing facilities.

Breakfast was excellent. A good variety of options. There was light options like cereal, toast and pastries. There were also fried options. All of this was included with the cost of accommodation.

Arriving at night, the doors were locked, and contacting the night porter was difficult (seemingly just a student). The curtains were not especially good at keeping out the sun, which is a problem approaching the solstice in June.

Location is perfect, right by the bus station and the university. The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of warm, cold, and vegan options available.

No- one to greet you after eight - had to help a fellow resident find a number to call to get booked in !

Nothing that we didn't like really. The room furnishings were quite basic but exactly what you would expect for university hall accommodation so no complaint at all.

The room was clean and spacious with a great view. The shared bathroom was clean with individual complete shower capsules. There was a great selection at breakfast and gluten free was very well catered for, even down to a separate toaster.

since the building is quite old you can hear pretty much anything that happens next door

Clean, the location was perfect, breakfast had so many options (gluten and vegetarian alternatives) and the room was a good size. The common room has a vending machine and staff friendly. Perfect place to stay for solo travellers

There was a common room with a piano in it, and I heard someone playing it, but when I went in later it had a lock on it. Not sure what their policies were for the piano, but maybe they could post a sign saying how and when to play it?

The location was good, and the staff were friendly. My room and bed were comfortable, and there was a kettle with tea, coffee, and shortbread available. The complimentary breakfast was delicious--so many options to choose from!

Breakfast very good if you like a typical fry up! We don't and the choices were not great, very few berries and nuts and they ran out during breakfast. No scrambled egg, only fried or boiled and no grilled tomatoes or mushrooms

Due to flight delays we arrived at about 10pm but volunteer warden appeared quickly and we were booked in straight away
