Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomGood location for where we were headed (this was a stop- gap) Very handy that there is a restaurant/bar on site but got very noisy at night (there was a football final game showing) breakfast was good. Room was very basic, but that’s what we were expecting for the price we paid. No problems really.

United KingdomThe shower took quite a long time to heat up, but this is really a minor quibble. We were also a little confused about where to go when we arrived, as the pub wasn't open yet, but it was easily sorted! Our room was very hot when we got back in the evening but this was more due to us not turning the radiator off before we left than any fault on the part of Mason Arms. In winter I think it would be absolutely lovely, very cosy!
The staff were absolutely lovely - even going so far as to give us a lift to our event so we didn't have to spend money on a taxi. The location was perfect, ideal for our purposes (a nearby wedding) and I can also see how it would be great for walkers. The breakfast was very tasty. It was all very clean and the bed was very, very comfy. The rooms are a good size and nicely decorated - they also came with information about things to do and places to see, if we had been staying longer we definitely would have used these!

United KingdomKitchen looked filthy and large Labrador dog in and out of there whilst cooking going on. Friends of the chef wandering into the kitchen from the beer garden whilst she was cooking meals. Chef smoked and didn’t wash her hands prior to going back in the kitchen from the beer garden. Recommend the excellent curry house in the village instead.

United Kingdom- The bathroom was not clean enough (there was black mould all over the shower hose and around the shower gel and shampoo attachments to the wall, the curtain was dirty and mouldy at the bottom and there was grime on the tiles, the bathroom needs a thorough deep clean. Moreover, the fan was disgusting and couldn't be turned on because it made a scary "broken" sound. - The bedframe kept getting separated and wonky because the fixtures were broken (though safe) - Bed sheets didn't hold still on the bed and the mattress cover sheet was also broken and getting all crumbled underneath the main sheet - Massive orange stain on the carpet next to the desk that didn't look like anyone tried to clean it - The wicca chair was very wobbly and precarious - On the first day I was there, there was a lot of noise, specially from a gentleman that was pressure washing right outside my door (just wish someone had warned me, to be able to plan something other than just being in my room resting during that rainy day) - The doors were quite dirty and there were quite a lot of spider webs inside and outside my room - I just found out on the last day that no one cleans the rooms daily anymore, unless I requested it and from what I remember it was said on the advert that they did, so I had to change my own sheets and towels and such, which was not a big deal because there were spares on the bedroom wardrobe - Didn't like the fact that I could hear the very loud clinking of plates and cutlery in the kitchen for hours either even though it was not that close to my room - This is not supposed to be a horrible complaint, just constructive criticism and if my home bathroom does not look like that, I do not want it on holiday for sure. Which I am sure many people like me would concur
- Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful - Very pretty surroundings - Beautiful view from my window - Sky light to see the starts at night and the birds during the day - Pub food was lovely - Nice filling breakfast - Spacious, pretty room and storage for one person - Very chilled environment - The owners prepared my breakfast even though i was late one of the days -
