The environment was 'tired'; noise from other guests moving around the landing areas/stairs/rooms was audible from our bedroom. The 2 single beds pushed together to make a superking were of different heights which made it a little uncomfortable if 'stretching out' (but demarkated boundaries well!). The hotel was comfortable however definitely the price fat exceeded the comfort offered - we paid 4 or 5* price for a 3* room/hotel. We did not sample breakfast owing to the cost already paid however did find some excellent places in Winchester at lower price for a fabulous breakfast. *very disappointed that had we booked on the day, we would have paid £80 less than we did.

It's a little tired and could do with a good clean. The breakfast wasn't great but wasn't bad either, just a bit cold.

The hotel is jungle/zoo themed and would have been great to stay with my young family.

Location perfect for a visit to Marwell zoo. Child friendly accomodation. Great food, bar and restaurant menu gave plenty of choice. Plenty of beakfast choice. Staff excellent. Pool water nice warm temperature. Beds comfortable. Shower had good water pressure.

Everything seems a bit worn. The beds were so soft they were uncomfortable and you could feel springs. Furniture and bathrooms need a lot of TLC. The grounds around the rooms looked like they hadn’t had a gardener in years. The breakfast was edible but not great quality. The cost for one night at £176 we felt was too expensive for the room and breakfast.

Room 210 Security latch on sliding door broken on arrival, not fixed during our stay. Flickering lights in the bathroom. Cups never cleaned or replaced. Long walk to room carrying our luggage. Location of TV an accident hazard.

Food and service on the whole very good, friendly staff. Pleasant room, comfortable bed. Easy parking.

The hotel is dated, which is fine and what I was expecting. However, the maintenance wasn't great. Lights flickering in the hallway, one of the taps in our sink wouldn't open/drain. Bed was lumpy. No thermostat in the room. Chairs/carpet in the restaurant need replacing. Nothing that ruined our trip though.

The staff were exceptional and the location was perfect for our trip to the zoo. My son loved the pool (note the Jacuzzi is permanently closed/boarded up). Room was very large and comfy and quiet. Staff make the hotel. For the price it was good.

There was no vegan milk at breakfast and the room could do with some updates. Would prefer a smart TV so we could watch netflix. Close to nature = spider in the room.

The bedroom decor was shabby and the furniture had an inconvenient layout. The vent option on the sliding door didn’t work but there were no staff on duty at night to fix it. For the price we would have expected a better standard of accommodation.

The beds were really comfortable. The staff were welcoming. The buffet breakfast was tasty.
