Dinner was a disappointment in the bar - the quinoa salad should be reassessed - it was very small and not much salad. The nachos however were great.

I liked the room, the facilities - if I had have known there was a physio and massage facility before I could have booked in. I particularly enjoyed the pool and steam room / cold shower mix

The food and the service at the cocktail bar were truly bad. The staff were really polite but we had to queue for 15 mins to get a drink, the salad was unwashed and included the stem (?) of the lettuce, the chicken wings cold and it took staff a while to get round to cleaning the glasses from previous people that were on our table. It feels like they didn't have enough staff working behind the bar.

The grounds and the outside of the hotel is beautiful. The rooms were ok,spacious and clean

There were two phones in our bedroom, no numbers on the actual phone to state how to call through to reception etc. There was no complimentary bottles of water. There was also no minibar or fridge in the room event though it was evident there was previously one there given the empty cupboard where there was a previous one. They missed the minor details which is disappointing. It seems if you book through a third party such as booking.com that maybe your are penalised for not booking direct through the hotel. The Hotel is situated in West Lothian than Edinburgh, Midlothian.

The Staff basically made the place. They were courteous with a great sense of humour.

Our room was alright but with some parts that did not work (vent in the bathroom, it was very hot so we had to open the window all night).

Rooms a little tired be nice if decoration wise it was in keeping with the original part of hotel. For the price you would expect to be more up to date and not stuck in the 90's. Pillows too soft no additional pillows in wardrobe. Window frames need replacing - very weathered and no paint on them. In relation to the next question about meeting our expectations I'm going to answer it here. Yes to the hotel as a whole butt no to the room.

The hotel is set in the countryside and includes 2 golf courses about 20 min taxi ride from the City Centre. An Uber is about £ 16-18 one way. The breakfast is excellent.

It’s a bit bit of a rabbit warren to get around. Breakfast was ok but quite a small area for the size of the hotel

I thought the food offerrings could have been a little more up market - maybe 2 restaurants would be good. I didnt expect to see burgers on the menu. Compared to a lot of places we stayed in I thought the breakfast was average - no freshly cooked options. However there was a large number of people staying.

Lovely staff, very comfortable hotel, the older part where the restaurant and bar were lovely, especially sitting in the bar with the fire. The older part has a lot of charm and has been very nicely refurbished.

Very easy to get to and park and everything you need is here. Very clean and staff efficient. Breakfast great. Didn't play the golf course but will do next visit.

In our room the hair dryers didn’t work. Also there were no bath robes when we arrived but everything was delivered as soon as we asked about. So that’s a tiny thing but all in all it’s exceptional and beautifully maintained.

It’s like traveling back in time. A very classy British style and beautiful area. It’s been very clean and cozy. A place to feel welcome.
