Unfortunately the room could have been cleaner. It wasn't dreadful but there were stains on the walls which was slightly concerning. It was also a real pain hearing the sounds of the restaurant dragging tables early in the morning and in the evening. We were right under the restaurant and it was so loud so that was not relaxing. Also I'm afraid the decor could do with an upgrade as it reminded me of my nans care home. Everything was a bit on the dated side..

When I arrived I asked about the water situation, as was advised on the television not to drink the water due to bug in the system. The receptionist said by some water at the bar. As good will gesture surely yhey should have put bottle in each room. For free.

we stayed in room 302 and was woken both mornings by the indrustrial extaction fan outlet buzzing for 3 hours that was right outside the bedroom weindow

Unfortunately the only Lift was out of order (waiting for engineer repairs) Luckily for us an alternative ground floor level access bedroom was available.

Great hotel & location perfect for Torbay and South Devon. Twin rooms were comfy & very good breakfasts. Large sunroom + lounge & bar ideal for the nightly entertainment featuring great vocalists. Excellent Staff all very friendly and helpful. Free Parking on site a bonus. Overall very good value & highly recommended

Exterior paintwork of building needs re painting white and interior decor in serious need of attention. My husband and I stripped the beds before departure and mattress protector ,mattress and pillows definitely need replacing. Had I had seen them before getting into the beds on Monday I don’t think I would have got into them!!!!

The lift was broken for most of the duration of our stay, which was a shame as we picked the hotel as it had a lift. It wasn’t the staffs fault and they tried their best to get it fixed. The parking wasn’t always easy but it was free.

The friendliness of the staff was excellent. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast, accommodated gluten free request with no problem . Opposite the beach which is what we love. It’s an old fashioned hotel, but spotlessly clean. Room was serviced everyday by thoughtful staff.

The noise from above at teatime like chairs scraping the floor moving around was loud but diminished after a couple of hours and was quiet for a goodnight sleep.

Was ideal for we having a dog big field to go on for her and little patio with table chairs to sit outside with her in the nice weather we're having in room 103 so was good for we and dog 🐕 😀

The quality of the breakfast wasn't great, but of an adequate start to the day, and catering for so many at once always has its difficulties.

Whilst the hotel is slightly tired and would benefit a refurbishment/decoration it was spotlessly clean and a very enjoyable stay. The location of the venue was second to none and there is adequate free parking on site. We would certainly go back if we were in the area in the future.

The location is superb, a few hundred yards from Paignton seafront. The room was just right - slightly tired but ensuite was good. it was clean and had plenty of tea and coffee. Staff are incredibly helpful The bar area overlooks the front so you can sit with a drink and overlook the sea The hotel is a very short walk into town and 2 minutes walk to the front and beach Free parking was a bonus We didn't eat in the hotel (and other was no pressure to do so) It was planned as a short break and was ideal
