Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomQuite a few issues with the WiFi, some of the team on the desk didn’t seem to be all that helpful. Could’ve done with a tea towel in the room and perhaps a sharp knife for cutting.
The room was comfortable and a decent size

United KingdomThe ‘reception’ area is in the front lobby. It’s small but practical. The major space in the building has been taken up as residential space. The staff member on the desk when I arrived put me in a blind panic when she asked for photo ID and a card to secure the £100 safety deposit. I doubted myself, but I was sure I’d done that in advance. Sure enough a few Minutes later, the necessary advance information had been done and she had the details she needed. I was advised that the key code to the lock box had changed, when in fact it was the same as the email I had received. Each day, the staff reminded me that the code had changed, but hadn’t. Staff seemed to be insistent that I used the lock box to access the key to open the front door, when they were sitting on the desk on websites not related to work. I felt that I had interrupted their Facebook time. Going through the lobby when staff were there wasn’t the warmest of interactions.
When I booked and looked up the property, i became a little worried about the ‘flat’ being just one room in some cramped place and to be told I was in room 6, I got concerned. It all sounded a little confusing, but as I can’t cancel it’s money I can I’ll afford to loose. I needn’t have worried. ‘flat’ 1, is the whole floor of the building. It has 12 individual self contained bedrooms with access only via key card. The room is small, granted, but the bathroom is large and within the room. A good hot shower and clean toilet. There is a communal area which consists of a large kitchen and seating area. I was very comfortable there and slept incredibly well. The Nest is situated 300 yards from the main town and an easily accessible walk. Granby street is full of great restaurants and take awaits.

United KingdomI didn’t realise it was student accommodation until after, but we didn’t need to use the communal areas it was just somewhere to shower and sleep! It was a little loud when sleeping as so central but you would expect that.
Centre of Leicester so great location. Car park across the road which was expensive as you’d expect city parking to be but really close.

United KingdomHalf of the items listed in the booking com website were missing. The staff did bring me some hangers and a hairdryer after request. The fire alarm went off at the first night and we as guests tried to call the emergency number provided by the property but nobody came. We were left alone to sort out the alarm which would have been a very dangerous situation in case of actual fire. (Somebody came an hour after the incident to tell me that there was no fire which was too late and smtg we already knew. ) There was also building dust in the room so the property was not properly cleaned after building it. Also something g to note is that the property hold the security revisit of £100 which they said will return to my account right after I checked out but it still has not been released)
Location was good and quiet. Kitchen was relatively well equipped. Bed was comfortable.

United KingdomWithout any prior warning, I had to pay a deposit of £100 when I checked in, in case of damage to the room. There was no inventory and no opportunity to inspect the room with a member of stay after the stay, so this easily could have been abused by the company and money was not kept by a third party. There was a small kitchen, but no cutlery, pots or pans. Nothing to wash up with. Might as well have stayed in hotel room with no kitchen facilities, as it was useless.
