When we booked (last minute mind you) we did not realize the room was in a separate building; a 2-minute walk from the Mansion House but it did have parking. It would be a good idea to advertise this in BIG letters when that room is chosen. The room was fine, but the floors needed to be vacuumed, and they had started to do some patches on the skylights and were not finished, the place just felt "tired". The bathroom was recently renovated but only one towel and one hand towel were provided. The Mansion house is where a lovely breakfast was served and included in the room price but sadly the whole place is a bit worn, it could just use a bit of a refresh and would have been amazing! The staff were very helpful and kind.

The rooms really need freshened up. The mattresses in our room were definitely well used. Our bedroom ceiling had a large water stain.

Whilst we would not have used the restaurant on this occasion (meeting friends elsewhere), you must sort out the lack of a chef for evening meals. It seems you are sleepwalking into closure.

The upgrade was very welcome! The furniture was from a bygone era which really appealed to us. The bed was fabulous as a highlight.

The food was not great and other facilities were not functional. There was no fridge in the room or USB charging stations.

The location of the property was great, room size was massive and the staff was well behaved and smiling. Room was cozy and staff provided all help when needed.

but really should look at getting outside maintenance, the view outside our window, with a plastic bottle and water laying on the roof, not good.

No meals. Bar closed 930 though they did get us a drink when we asked nicely Television and internet terrible. Only got TV to work if someone sitting /standing next to it, poor range of programmes ( only BBC) and poor internet .

This was our second visit and it didn't match up to our first. Bed sheet had burn marks from an iron it and small holes, (didn't affect our sleep.) Some of the "pillows" were old duvets stuffed in the pillowcase. There wasn't any hot water for a shower in the morning. Would have expected much better for a four star hotel

When we arrived the room was freezing and no hot water was available, the man at reception, got the hot water for us, and supplied a heater for the room.

Disapointed as there ws no chef for breakfast facilities. I was given a continental breaksfast which was ok but not great. I was offered 2 yoghurts, bananas which were on the point of being chucked out, plus other fruit and a jug of milk for cereal. Bearing in mind I was stayng 4 nights and I ws staying in the Lodge which did have kitchen facilities. Just an iidea maybe the kithcen should be checked to see if any other requirements are needed. I felt as I was a paying guest I shouldn;t have to go and ask.

Location was ideal for me as I could walk to where I needed to go to. Also close to local tgransport facilites and shops.

This is a lovely hotel but it does feel like a faded jewel. Location is lovely - peaceful yet close to centre of Elgin. Bedrooms are lovely Nice lounge and bar

The room (11) had no view and we’d hoped for one of the rooms shown on the web site, Four poster bed etc. A view of the lawns was our expectation. It’s in need of some renovation (carpets threadbare). It was extremely icy and no attempt was made to make the car park less hazardous.

Staff and great breakfasts. What a lovely building - very interesting and great location.
