Bathroom could do with a bit of a refurb, just starting to look tired. The room and bathroom were very clean just needed a touch up. Lights in the room were annoying, they are either too dark or too bright and this is very trivial, not very makeup application proof as the lighting was really difficult

The team at Malmaison were really friendly and approachable, Very friendly with responses on queries I had prior to the stay. Room was really comfortable and spacey, which I would expect for the amount paid.

No car park, it’s is still quite expensive but location was very important as lone female traveller.

I like the Scottish brand of toiletries ( Arran) that the hotel using. This caused me to learn more about product. Every servers in the hotel are very nice and helpful . They enjoy the job they are doing 👍🏻 I really love to be served by happy people… The location of the hotel is the most convenient located in Reading, I believe . When you step out from the train station , it is just right before your eyes … Some May think the natural lighting is not enough for the suite I was staying. But I personally quite like the special atmosphere it creates …

I was put in a twin accessible room, as a 6ft and broad shouldered man, this made the single beds a little small. In addition accessible rooms when you don’t need the facilities always take the edge off. The main sink plug did not seem to want to work. Acceptable for one night - just.

Nice building, good location, good bar area. Overall good common areas. I’m sure standard double rooms are really nice. Staff were good.

Great place with little to fault it. I was happy I didn't upgrade after the tempting upsell emails - it was a place to sleep for me that night, rather than a holiday.

Spotless and classy. The room overlooked AC compressors on the adjoining roof. They used frosted glass so the light was good, and vents hidden, which I thought was a smart way of using the space. Good sized room.

A little ‘rough around the edges’ in some areas, small things like scuffed / chipped skirting boards, corroded and loose taps, leaky shower tray. Didn’t really detract from a very pleasant stay though.

There were warnings on the taps but the hot water was scakdindly hot and the individual controls on the shower were not easy to work out and balance initially.

Very convenient as near the station and RailAir Bus. Bed really comfy and it was gteat to be able to open the window for some fresh air. Having a bath and a shower was a luxury.

My room whilst beautifully decorated wasn’t functional in some ways. There was no mirror in my room, which I didn’t realise until after I’d had a shower to get ready for work. Whilst there was a massive mirror in the bathroom, there was no plug socket close enough for me to be able to dry my hair and the lighting wasn’t bright enough for me to try and put my makeup on.

The property is close to everything in the town centre, with the train station being directly opposite the property too. The hotel itself is decorated beautifully and is really clean. The staff were polite and helpful.

Not much as the room was perfect and roomy, and fitted out to a good standard. The bar looked a little tawdry, but I say that without even going into it!

The wonderfully warm and understanding greeting by the receptionist - full of understanding [one of us had injured his knee in walking from Oxford to Reading over the previous 3 days], and clear explanation of why it was beyond her's or Malmaison's powers to cancel his room given that he had to return home for treatment. And she then asked after my friend when I checked out the morning after.

Location is handy for Reading station and the town centre. Despite the central location it is quite a quiet area. My room, 218, was spacious and comfortable with a good en-suite bathroom. The decor is a gloomy grey but in keeping with the hotel aesthetic. The staff are always nice and friendly.

I stayed in the junior suite and I think that’s overselling it slightly - it’s just a bigger room that can fit a sofa in it. I was surprised by how lacking such a big room was in facilities e.g. hanging space but no drawers or shelves really to keep your clothes. We moved on our final night to a Club Deluxe room which actually had more clothes storage than the bigger room!

The location is great and the staff are excellent and truly can’t do enough for you.

It was clean and the room had more than decent size, we had space for our luggage. The staff was very helpful: we had breakfast included but we had to leave early in the morning, before breakfast began and they asked the kitchen to prepare breakfast for us and brought it to our room in the morning, exactly at the time we requested. The location was great for us, 2 minutes from the train station.
