We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

LithuaniaThe level of refurb quality in british houses never stops surprising me 😀 Doors, skirting boards painted using simple brush with paint smudges left everywhere. Sagging old doors, wooden squeeky floor, oldschool front door lock where you need to catch the right position to insert key like you are entering some castle.
Nice and clean house with a friendly host, you get everything you need for a short overnight stay. Reasonable price aswell. You can see that the owner maintains everything to a certain standard as there is no mess all around.

United KingdomVery pleasant stay—the host is really friendly, room and house were tidy, and I was made to feel welcomed. (Allowed to use kitchen, etc.) The host works from home so is always on hand to answer any questions. Bus on the corner to city centre in about 15 minutes. Major shopping area five minute walk away, but the area itself is quiet. Recommended.

Tom was very friendly and had thought of little extras, like shampoo, shower gel etc that you could use. Knocked to bring us up a cup of tea before we left. It was spotless very high cleaning standards and you can use all the kitchen appliances, and washing machine if needed. Would recommend.

United KingdomI had a very unpleasant experience staying at Maison Blanc recently. I checked in just after 9:00 pm with my son on 23/08/23 as per previously agreed time, had dinner and went to sleep soon after that. Next day I dropped my son around 8:30 am at University of Nottingham. After that by 10:00 am I have taken all my luggage’s out of the room and loaded in my car except one little handbag left at the lounge because I needed to take out some of the leftover food from previous night out of the fridge before leaving around 11:00 am. I was then working from the room between 10:00 am and 10:55 am and then came down to leave. I went to the kitchen to fill the water bottles and take out the food from the fridge before leaving. It was 11:01 when I was about to leave and the owner commented that - 'You are already over time and should leave immediately'. I said to him I know that I am 1 minute past check out time but I have already released my room before time and should be leaving any moment. I also told him that you really can't tell me like that when I am just 1 minute over time. He then replied that he can't do anything until I leave completely and became abusive and also told me 'Will you leave right now or I will throw you out of my house'. He was becoming physically violent as he shouted on me and I very quietly left the property saying ‘Thank You’. If this is the attitude of the owner to his guests, I wonder if he should let his property out for business. I was planning to visit this property more often in future as it is convenient for me considering my son is a student at University of Nottingham. After his terrible experience I am really scared and never going to be there in my lifetime.
