We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe administration appears to need some attention because about 10 minutes after I had checked out and settled my bill in full for extras (food and wine) the hotel attempted to take payment for my stay again!! I had of course already paid in full for the accommodation in advance via Booking.com. Luckily the transaction was declined by my Bank. Never the less I emailed the hotel to bring this to their attention. They said 'It was caused by an unusual system error. We have investigated it and hope that it will not reoccur. I apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. I can reassure you that it was not an intentional attempt to deduct additional funds from your card.'
The room was very good and comfortable. The food was exceptional. Breakfast was good too.

United KingdomI was surprised that having spent the best part of £1,400 for an overnight stay and dinner to be asked to pay for £8 coffee on the morning after checking out … I had checked out in the morning, gone for a walk in the grounds and then come back and asked if there was any chance of a quick coffee for two … it’s the sort of thing in a london hotel would have been given as the “don’t worry about that” and would have left a much better feeling … sadly, unlikely to return because of that …

United Kingdomthe room was poorly designed. The lighting was very poor and the switches were very tricky to understand. The shower and bath were excellent but the vanity unit housing the basins is not user friendly with the basins situated too far back.

United KingdomOur suite , dark and dingy and so uncomfortable. One little sofa , lighting that drove us mad and couldn’t be read by . The open plan bathroom is not to our taste we would not have booked if we had known it was like that. The room was not where you want to spend time, very disappointed, it is disfunctional and depressing.
It was good but the alcove sheeting is not easy to get in and out of.
